Hay council enters fire pact
Hay council passed a motion
last Tuesday night to enter
into the fire protection agree-
ment with the village of Dash-
wood.
The agreement involves a
shared system by Hay and
Stephen townships and the vill-
age of Dashwood.
Clerk Wayne Horner said
that "Hay has accepted the
items to be considered and has
recommended to the village to
prepare an agreement for final
approval, according to discus-
sions with the township."'
Under the agreement the
annual operating costs will be
shared by the three bodies, as
follows; 40 percent by Dash-
wood and the remaining 60
percent split between Hay and
Stephen townships. The split
will be based on an assessment
of land and buildings in the
fire area.
The Fire Board will consist
of one representative each
from the Dashwood trustees,
and councils from hlay and
Stephen Townships.
