Sketches of artist show area
buildings of loyal int rest
Artist Nick Hill got fed up
with hiding his sketches of .
Huron County buildings ()tithe
backs of envelopes and on loose
papers which inevitably got
buried in cupboards and drawers,
He decided it was about time
to bring his sketches into day-
light and, he hoped, help
people of the county see the
beauty which surrounds thein.
The result is a 16 -page book-
let of sketches and descriptions
of some of the older buildings
in the county which he put on
sale last week.
It costs $2, a figure Mr. Hill
said he hopes wilLneet his
publishing expenses. The book-
let is available at the Zurich
Citizens News.
The preface to the booklet
says he found the older building;
"were not so much relics of
the past but works of art that
enhance and enrich the quality
of our environment."
Mr. Hill said his "real joy
is in showing the way the build-
ings were built and the way
materials were used."
The booklet includes drawing:

surroundings.
"Once I drew a sketch of a
couiitercial block in Clinton.
A roan who lived in the arca
caste up to me and told mu he
had never realized what beaut-

think that trait is true of many
people.

able to see what's around us, "
he said.
Mr. Bill said 500 copies
of the book have been printed
