Zurich Citizens News, 1974-07-25, Page 6PAGE 6 ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS Married GROOT - KIEFFER At Sacred Heart Church, Wingham, on Saturday, July 6, Elaine Agnes Kieffer and Peter James Groot were united in the Holy bonds of matrimony in a double ring ceremony with Rev. Father Nolan officiating at the nuptial mass. The altar was decorated with pink and white peonies. During the mass scripture readings were done by Michael and George Kieffer, uncles of the bride. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kieffer, of R.R,1, Bluevale, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Groot, of R. R.1, Zurich. Matron of honour was Mrs. Karen Weishar, of Stratford, sister of the bride. She wore a floor length gown of flock flowered voile over dephinium blue Taffeta designed on the same lines as the bride's dress and with baby puff sleeves, a blue picture hat with band matching the dress and a basket of shasta daisies blue carnations and ivy with blue streamers completed her costume. Bridesmaids were Miss B.J. ivicLearn of London. Mrs. Mary Kieffer of Wroxeter and Miss Maryann Groot of Zurich, were all attired identically to the matron of honour and carrying identical flowers. Best man was Joseph Duch- arrne of Goderich. Ushers were Ronald Hartman, of Dashwood, Thomas Ryan of Ailsa Craig, and David Groot, of Zurich. Ring Bearer was Sean Kieffer, of Wingham nephew of the bride. The groom and all male attendants wore navy blue tuxedos in Adventuror style with blue ruffled shirts. The dinner and reception were held at the Brussels Legion Hall where the bride's mother received guests wearing a long full length gown of polyester sky blue crepe with lace bodice long sleeves and wide self belt with matching lace, and a cor- sage of pink roses. She was assisted by the groom's mother wearing a full length gown of mauve polyester crepe with plain bodice, long sleeves and figured skirt and a corsage of yellow roses. The dinner table was centered with a three tier wedding cake iced in traditional white with several dozen tiny blue sweet peas completing the decor. The table was decorated with blue and white streamers and ere's the wedding cake was flanked on either side with crystal candel- ebta with long blue tapers and roses. Guest tables were decor- ated with blue tapers and roses. Master of ceremonies was the bride's uncle and Godfather, Michael Kieffer of Teeswater. During the evening dancing was enjoyed to the "Morans" and at midnight a lunch was served. For travelling to the Manitoul- in Islands, the bride donned a mint green two piece dress with white accessories and a corsage of white roses.
