Miss Ethel Dewar, Huron County Librarian, was entert- ained at a luncheon in Bennzill- PPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE er last week by the County Lib- rary Board. Miss Dewar was pleasantly surprised when pres- ented with an oil paining of the Bayfield Pier done by artist Jack McLaren. Miss Dewar, who has been residing in the village, has sold her home to Mrs. McRae and plans to live in Belleville upon her retire- ment at the end of August. Mrs. Margaret Garrett and family and Mr. Delford Altman spent the holiday weekend at Mosse Campout at Meaford with friends Mr. and Mrs. Ron Bow- ers and Mr, and Mrs. Glen Weber of Glen Allen. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Overboe, Scott and Theresa, London were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald McLeod, Theresa remained for a two-week visit with her grand- parents. Also visiting with the McLeod family was his sister Mrs. Elsie Sullivan of Sparling- ville, Michigan. Mrs. Lucy Desjardine, Detroit, Michigan, has spent the past week at her cottage in the village. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker attended the Centennial Cel- ebrations in Mitchell last Tues- day. Miss Diana Wyatt, of Kingstot is visiting her grandmother Mrs. A.S. Morton, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Leonard and Kal of Willowdale, visited her mother, Mrs. E.A. Feather- stone in Hensali and relatives in the village on Saturday. Mrs. Garfield H. Westlake and daughters Barbara and Shelley of Delta, B,C. visited overnight with his relatives last week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker, Pam, Jack and David, of Dor- chester were weekend guests of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker. Mrs. Annie Lang Michigan, has been a guest of Mrs. L. H . D. IvlcLeod and Dorothy. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Long- field and family visited Mrs. Margaret Garrett and family for the weekend. . Mr, and Mrs. Art Latimer, Toronto, who have been with her mother, Mrs. G.L. Knight for the past week, returned to their home on Saturday. With Mrs. Knight for the weekend were .her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Knight, Jackie and Kathryn, of Toronto and Mrs. Stan Gordon and Skye of Man- itoulin Island. Brian Merrill is presently at Red Lake in Northern Ontario helping fight the forest fires by dumping water from a 204 helicopter. Mr. Bernard F.
