Carmel women
entertain guests
Mrs. Harvey Hyde, president
of the Women's Missionary
Society of Carmel Presbyterian
Church welcomed guests from
Chiselhurst church, First Presby-
terian Church, Seaforth, Arnold
Circle Members and Home Help
ers to the 84th birthday party of
the Society at a meeting rec-
ently. The devotional was taker
by Mrs. Percy Campbell and
Mrs. Glenn Bell who opened
with a prayer and the singing
of the hymn "Now Thank we all
our God."
Mrs. Campbell read the scrip-
ture and led in prayer. Mrs.
Eric Luther, guest soloist, sang
two lovely solos, Mrs. Mal-
colm Dougall accompanied at
the piano.
Mrs. Glenn Bell gave the dev-
otional meditation on "God
gives us richly all things."
Mrs. Hyde introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Margaret
Aaynard, of Staffa, who gave
an informative address on Ken-
ya East Africa where they visit-
ed with their son, daughter -in
law and their young son. Mrs.
Daynard showed slides on the
country, its people, animals,
and the work their son is doing
there with the C. I. D. A.
Mrs. Harry Snell thanked all
who took part in the meeting.
Mrs. Meston cut the birthday
cake and gave an appropriate
poem congratulating the ladies
on their 84th birthday celebrat-
ion.

St. Boniface CWL
The June meeting of St.
Boniface Catholic Women's
League was held following
Mass for vacations at 8 p. m.
There were 27 members pres-
ent and one guest. The League
promise was recited by all.
A report of the convention
was read that Mrs. Van Raay
and Mrs. Sweeney went to in
London.
Mrs. Harold Smith read a
Bible message from Women of
action in the plan of God,
entitled "The Perfect Wife."
The group closed the meeting
with a prayer and sang a hymn.
Mrs. Adella Regier won the
door prize. John Blackwell
showed very interesting slides
that he took while on a trip to
Rome.

Municipal Building in Bayfield
Thursday evening last to hear
R.E. (Bob) McKinley M.P.
Huron -Middlesex speak on
several important policies inst-
ituted by their Party in the up-
coming Federal election, July
8. Everette Mclllwain, of God-
erich Township, acted as chair-
man for the meeting, which in-
cluded supporters from Goderich
and Stanley Townships and Bay-
field.
A few words of welcome were
extended on behalf of the vill-
age of Bayfield's Reeve Ed Odd-
leifson; also Clayton Laithwaite,
President of the PC Federal
Association spoke and stressed
the need for getting people out
to the polls.
STILL IN GOOD CONDITION - Harold (Tiny) Thiel, of
Zurich, has an old Eaton's Catalogue dating back to 1906 in
his possession, and the book still remains in reasonably good
condition. Mr. Thiel recently held an auction sale when he
disposed of most of the items in his museum, but he decided
to hang onto this one for a keepsake.

since 1965 to speak to the
gathering. In his address, Mr.
McKinley described Mr. Stan-
field as a person who is not
a swinger; a very well organized
person; a man who takes every-
thing in his stride, and keeps
right on going. He said Mr.
Stanfield is never down in
the dumps.
