How time flies. The month
of June is on the wane and a
good many children are finish-
ed school, so from now on the
residents will be looking for-
ward to families and friends
dropping in for a visit while
they are in the area vacationing
On Tuesday evening the
U.C.W. of Goshen United
Church sponsored the monthly
birthday party. The program
opened with a number by the
Sunday School class of Mrs.
Bruce Keys namely Lori Hayter,
Tracy Hayter, Becky McKinley,
Lori McBride and Thos. Mc-
Bride. Miss Julie Armstrong
favoured with a guitar solo,
followed by a step dance by
Becky McKinley. Mrs. Doris
McKinley and Mrs. Allan
Hayter sang a duet accompan-
ied by the ukulele. Mrs. Bruce
Keys gave a reading, The Age
of the Spray Can and Mrs.
Elmer Hayter favoured with a
reading, which was enjoyed by
all. Mrs. Doris -McKinley and
Airs. Leona McBride sang a
duet accompanied by the ukul-
ele. Majorettes consisting of
]lulie McBeth, Brenda Dowson,
Bonnie Dowson, Tanis Chuter,
Sherri Chuter, Lori Hayter,
Tracey Hayter and Louanne
Taylor entertained with a num-
ber. Miss Bonnie Dowson, Tanis
Chuter, Bonnie Voisin and
Janice Webster sang a quartette
accompanied by ukuleles. A
game "The Postman" played by
Mrs. Ross McBeth, Mrs. Bill
Dowson and Mrs. Eric Chuter

days during the month of June
are Mrs. Ferne Bowman, Mrs.

erich. Happy birthday was sung
as Mrs. Margaret McBride and
Mrs. Bill Clarke carried lighted
birthday cakes into the dining
room. .
On Thursday afternoon the
Zurich Public School entertain-
ed the residents to a variety
program consisting of the foll-
owing: Piano solos by Miss
Shelley Haggitt, Linda Rawlings;
Darlene Steckle, Vicki Schroe-
der, Deirdre Wallace, Julie
Miller, Sandra Armstrong, Ell-
en Shephard, Elaine Hendrick,
Erryn Shephard, Douglas Klopp,
Elizabeth Datars, and Karen
McAllister.
Guitar numbers were given
by Susanne Besse, Kathy Love
and Janet McAllister. Carol
Rader favoured with an accord-
ian number, A vocal number
was given consisting of Barbara
Rader, Brenda Miller, Peggy
Hay, Ellen Shephard, Sandra
Armstrong, Darlene Oesch and
Brenda Riddell.
The Grade I pupils also fav-
oured with a musical number.
Friday evening bingo was
enjoyed, followed by refresh-
ments.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Wilfred Jarvis, of Exeter. Mrs.
Malcolm Dougall presided at
the organ during the worship
service.

Police report
On Sunday at 12:45 a.m. a
car driven by Frank Leyten,
Rodney, skidded out of control
on Highway 81 north of Green-
way and collided with a tree.
The driver and his two passen-
gers, William Leyton and Jerry
Hendrikx, R. R.5, Parkhill were
injured. All injured were taken
to University Hospital, London,
by Hoffman's Ambulance.
Damage was estimated at $800
by Constable Dale Lamont.
Also on Sunday at 1 50 p.m.
a motor -cycle driven by
Blair Partridge, London, failed
to negotiate a curve on High-
way 81 east of Grand Bend and
skidded into the ditch. The
driver was injured in the coll-
ision. Damage was estimated
at $175. by Constable Bill
Lewis.
On Friday at 11:30 p. m. a
car driven by Earl Coughtrey,
Huron Park, collided with a
parked vehicle at Huron Park
resulting in $450 damage to the
car. Constable Al Quinn invest-
igated.
On Saturday at 2:14 a.m.

London, collided at the main
intersection in Kippers. Dam-
age was estimated at $300 by
Constable Frank Giffin.
A soft drink vending mach-
ine was stolen from the gas '
•station at St. Joseph's and later
recovered near Bayfield in a
wrecked condition. The mach-
ine was valued at $200.
A car radio, valued at $78
was stolen from a car parked
at Merner's Meat Market, in
Dashwood.
