Zurich Citizens News, 1974-06-06, Page 19THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 1974 Married in St. Peter's Church BROWN - RAU Janet Mary Rau and Christoph- er John Brown, exchanged mar- riage vows in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph, Ontario, on Saturday, May 18, 1974. at 2 p.m. Baskets of white mums, mauve gladiola, mauve daisies with green fern decorated the altar. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rau, R.R.2, Zurich and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Brown, R. R. 1, Dashwood . Rev. Father J. Bensette off- iciated for the double -ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was stunning in her full length gown of poly- ester sheer over taffeta with a built-in cathedral train. Bands of Venice lace trimmed the bodice, high neckline and Jul- iet sleeves. Her veil of silk illusion fell from a pricess cap trimmed with Alecon lace. She carried a cascade of white phalaenposis orchids, with trail- ing ivey and mauve lace ribbons Bridal attendants were Miss Cindy Brown, sister of the groom, Miss Julie Rau, sister of the bride and Mrs. Helen McAdams. Tracey Tindall, cousin of the bride, London was flower girl.. The attendants chose identic- al floor -length gowns of sheer organza over taffeta, each in a different colour, blue, yellow, green and mauve. The gowns featured ruffled bodices, with matching ruffles on the bottom of the skirts. The bodice, skirt and julier sleeves were accented by Alecon lace. They carried parasols trimmed with daisies and matching satin ribbons and wore picture hats with attached flowers in colors to match their gowns. The flower girl carried a nosegay of daisies and wore a tiara accented with matching ribbon. Terry Polinsky, cousin of the groom, Kitchener, was best man and Bob Fuchs, Kitchener, and Brian Doherty, Kitchener, ushered guests. Darryl Rau, brother of the bride was ring hearer. Mrs. Patricia Meidinger, organist, accompanied soloists, Mrs. Yvonne Hartman, Brant- ford, and Peter and Bert Den- omme, both of Kitchener. The wedding reception was held in the Zurich Community Centre. The grooms mother assisted wearing a powd- er blue chiffon dress with a white eyelet top and a blue picture hat. For travelling, the bride changed to a navy pant suit and white blouse with pink accessories, After their return from a wedding trip to Montreal, the couple now reside at Turnbull's Grove, Grand Bend. The groom is employed with Bendix, Hensall, Ontario. 0 Turpentine is a product of southern pine trees. Trees planted six feet apart total 1,210 per acre.
