Bayfield
meeting

A public meeting has been
set for Saturday morning, June
1, in the old Town Hall, Bay-
field to discuss the South Dock
Development in the Bayfield
River, council decided at their
regular meeting Monday even-
ing.
In other business at the
meeting, council heard the
clerk read correspondence from
John White, Ministry of Treas-
ury, with enclosed copy of the
1974 Ontario Budget; from
the Ministry of Transportation
and Communication re -subsid-
ies on maintenance of storm
sewers 27 inch or less; and
filed a request from the retail
Merchants Association of Ont-
ario pertaining to uniform store
hours.
At the same meeting, coun-
cil passed a resolution to supp-
ort the Regional Municipality
of Peel to strongly protest to
the Ontario Hockey Association
the apparent lack of control;
policing and to end violence on
and off the ice.
It was also decided to invest-
igate the necessity of fencing
swimming pools to protect the
ratepayers and the municipality.
Council learned that some
concrete information should be
known soon regarding the Senior
Citizens Housing Development,
and heard a request from Stewar-
Watson, Victoria Street for
permission to pave his driveway.
They also discussed the grass
cutting which will get under
way innediately. Also discussed
was the location of several new
street lights to be placed on
Highway 21 to more effectively
light the corner at Clan Gregor
Square where many accidents
happen.

Action gets under way this
Sunday on the local front in the
Huron- Perth Baseba 11 League,
when the Zurich Kings play
host to the league winning
Clinton Colts. Game time will
be 2 p.m. This game will see
the return to hardball in Zurich
after an absence of several
years.
The local group who are in
charge of this year's entry in
the Huron -Perth league have
been holding regular workouts,
and as many as 20 hopefuls have
turned out. As well, a great
deal of work has gone into re-
building the screen at the hard-
ball diantong, along with other
necessary improvements.

Secondary School, in Clinton.
