LIONS DONATE BUS TO WORKSHOP - The Adult Rehabilitation Centre at Dashwood has a
new bus thanks to the Grand Bend Lions Club. The Centre workshop is sponsored by rhe South
Huron Association for the lvlentally Retarded. Grand Bend Lions president Gerry Kading shown

injuries
when truck
hits school bus
Forty-five school children
escaped injury Friday in a bus -
truck -car collision on l lighway
83, west of Exeter, which
caused nearly $23, 000 in dam-
age,
Exeter OPP said driver of the
school bus, Carl Oestreicher,
32, of R, R,1, Dashwood, rec-
eived minor curs. There were
no other injuries.
Police said a transport truck.
loaded with chemical fertilizer,
owned by Nussey Cartage Ltd.,
of Tilbury and driven by Brad-
ley Gardiner, 22, of R,R,1,
Merlin, collided with the bus
from behind just after the bus
had stopped to pick up two
children.
Damage was estimated at
$20, 000 to the truck and $1, 000
to the bus,.
A car driven by Peter Gill,
141, of Grand Bend, was also
struck by the truck and receiv-
ed $3,100 damage.
Police said the truck driver
has been charged with careless
driving and with following too
closely.
