The District Annual of
South Huron Women's Institute
was held in the Hay Township
l•Iall, Zurich, last Thursday,
with about 100 ladies in attend-
ance. The Zurich Institute
were hosts for the occasion.
Mrs. James Keys, president,
was in charge of the meeting,
which opened with the Ode
and Mary Stewart Collect.
The "In Memoriam" was in
charge of the Grand Women's
Institute.
Mrs. Beatrice Geiger, R.R.1
Zurich, extended a welcome
to all the ladies attending the
event, and the reply was given
by Mrs. J. Sinclair, of Kippen.
Mrs. Gordon Papple, the new
Provincial Board Member, was
introduced by Mrs. Alex Ham-
ilton, of Grand Bend.
A duet was sung by Ruth
Townsend and Grace Campbell,
accompanied by Mrs. George
1lenderson.
Mrs. Roylance Westcott pres-
ided for standing convener's
reports. All nine branches
reported in all convenorships.
Public Relations Officer report-
ed a wonderful year spreading
the news "For Home and Count-
ry.
Miss Jane Pengilley, home
Economist for Huron, expressed
her enthusiasm in her 4-11 work,
with 102 clubs in Huron with
approximately 1100 girls in the
present club. "Take a Look at
Yourself." She noted that there
would be a one day workshop in
Spring, 197:5, on Nutrition.
Lunch was served at Emman-
uel United Church, when Rev.
A. C Blackwell spoke on "[lope'
lle said the theology of hope
is a very necessary action and
[lope goes into action when
things are down. Special thanks
was given for the donation to
ARC and he noted the drapes
were being hung in the library
that day.
Hensall convened a "Pennies
for Friendship" description on
how they do go around the
world. Each Institute placed
pennies on the globe making a
complete circle around the
globe. Also each representative
had an artist drawn replica of
a penny on her back as she per-
formed her little task. They
closed by singing, "Hear the
Pennies Dropping, all for A, C.
W, W."
Mrs. W. Bradnock brought
greetings from the London Area
and noted that the area conven-
tion will be held at Central
United Church, Stratford, Nov-
ember 27 & 28. Each br anch
is asked for a gift worth $3.00
to be sent with their district
president for the craft table.

Water Resources Act, as•amended,

In The Matter Of: Ir appears from an examination of
the said plans that the proposed sewage treatment works
will be located in the vicinity of Lot 6, Range "L", Town-
ship of Stanley.
-and-
In The Matter Of: The Environmental hearing Board has
been requested by the Ministry of rhe Environment to hold
a public hearing concerning the sewage treatment works.
The purpose of the hearing is to enable the Board to obtain
information and to hear the views expressed at the hearing
so as to enable it to form an opinion on the merits as to
whether the use and operation of the proposed site would
or would not be in the public interest.
Take Notice that the Environmental Ilearing Board here-
by appoints the 3rd day of June, 1974 at 11:30 o'clock in
the morning, local ante, for the hearing to be held in the
Township of Stanley Hall, Varna, Ontario,
And Take Notice that plans of the proposed sewage
treatment works will be available for inspection in the
office of the Municipal Clerk of the Township of Stanley,
R.R.1, Brucefield, Ontario.
And Further Take Notice that if you do not attend at this
hearing, the Environmental Hearing Board may proceed
in your absence and you will not be entitled to any further
notice of the proceedings.
