year old, "from Brazil to Ont-
ario hay fields" twine program
is expected to deliver up to 25
per cent more twine by the end
of June than ever before.
The first boat arrives in
Toronto in mid-April, with two
more scheduled for mid-May.
They will provide as much
"2549" line baler twine as was
delivered last year. The addit-
ional 25 per cent will arrive
from Brazil in June.
Once the boat docks, truck
deliveries will be scheduled to
co-op retail outlets across Ont-
ario and co-op patrons will be
able to pick up their orders.
"Our '2549' line is full
weight, 40 lb. gross per bale,
full length and strength, " says
Bill Ashbourne, UCO's stores
department procurement man-
age. "We have not reduced the
quality that has provided dep-
endable field performance in
the past, " he adrls.
UCO has limited quantities
of domestic baler and binder
twines available to augment
its supplies. It is also marketing
"Co-op Polypropylene" baler
twine.
Prices, established at local
outlets, are up substantially
from last year and reflect raw
material increases of 250 to 300
per cent over last year.
