INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baker
had as their Easter weekend
guests, her son, Mr. and Mrs.
George Coleman and family of
Willowdale.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cluff, Rob
and Tara, London, spent the
weekend at the Tillman family
cottage.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Talbot,
Deanna and Marshal, St.
Thomas, were with his parents
Mr. and Mrs, Norman Talbot,
for the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross McMich-
ael, and Jack, Pil City, were
weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Craig. Visiting with the
Craig's on Sunday were Mr.
and Mrs. Ken Boyce and family.
of Goderich.
Janice Callaghan, Lambeth,
spent the weekend with Mary
Beth Pounder at the Pounder
family home.
Mrs. L.B. Smith spent a
week and a half with her daugh-
ter and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Rowse, Jim, Vicki, Catht,
Jill and Dale, in London. Mr.
and Mrs. Rowse, Jill and Dale
accompanied her home on
Sunday and remained for the
day with her.
Baby Robbie Irwin was with
his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
E, W, Erickson Saturday night
and Sunday while his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Rob Irwin acc-
ompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Thomas of Goderich to Guelph
to attend a dog show.
Cpl. and Mrs. Stan Smith and
Lisa, of Borden, and Mrs. David
Veysey and Chris of Barrie,
were with Mrs, Smith's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Larson last
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Atwood
and Tim, Galion, Ohio visited
Sunday with his mother, Mr.
and Mrs. E.J. Reid.
We were sorry to learn of the
passing of a very old and dear
friend, Mrs. Thomas (Martha)
Bailey, of Huronview and
formerly of Bayfield; who pass-
ed away on Monday, April 15.
in Alexander Marine and Gen-
eral Hospital, Goderich. She
was in her 94th year. Mrs. Bail-
ey is survived by her husband,
Thomas of Bayfield and a
daughter, Mrs. Harold (Thelma)
Edwards of London. The fun-
eral was from Ball Funeral Horne
Clinton on Wednesday, April
17, with Rev. George Youmat-
off, of Trinity Anglican Church
officiating. Interment was in
Bayfield cemetery. -
4-H CLUB REPORT

The sixth meeting of the
Bayfield Beauticians 4-H Club
was held at the home of Mrs.
Healy on April 15. Our guest
was hairdresser Ilse Grillmayer
who talked about the care of
our hair and how we should have
our hair styled, She talked with
each one of the 4-H members
about their hair and asked how
we cared for it. We discussed
Achievement Day. Our next
meeting will be on Wednesday
April 23, at 7 p.m. at the
home of Mrs. Healy.
The Graphic Management
Graduating Class, Fanshawe
College, London, met at the
Albion Hotel during the week-
end under the leadership of
teachers Dennis Smith and Bill
Walker. The theme used by the
class of 1974 was "Relief is just
away (year one). Every year is
year one for future generations."
The people attending were
Jean Ann Taylor, Belleville;
Ian McLennan, Climax, Sask.,
Brian Parr, Wayne King, Don
Rae, Allan Dashford, Judy
Bartholemew all of London,
and Steven Stark, of Zurich.
We are very pleased to report
that Monseigneur Bourdeau,
who is confined in St, Joseph
Hospital, London , is progress-
ing nicely following a recent
heart attack. His many friends
pray for good health for him and
for his early return to his home
in the villarre.
Sincere sympathy is extended
to the family of the late Miss
Ethel Fowlie who passed away
in Clinton Public Hospital, on
Sunday, April 12, 1974.
The Notice of Hearing which
was to have been held on May
2, in Bayfield Town Hall has
been adjourned for the present
pending the results of the Writs

ertained in her new home on
Argyle St. on Tuesday evening
at a kitchen shower to hour Miss
Janet Boyes whose marriage
to Mr. Michael Eckert of Clin-
ton takes place on Saturday
May 11, in Trinity Anglican
Church, Bayfield. Co- hostess
Mrs. Denise Orr assisted Mrs.
Fawcett in conducting several
enjoyable games and contests.
Prize winners included Mrs.
Dale Leppington, Miss Janet
-Boyes and Mrs, Milvena Erick-
son. The bride-to-be was seat-
ed in an easy chair artistically
decorated with pink and blue
pom-poms and upon her arrival
was presented with a lovey red
corsage, pinned on by her -
future mother-in-law, Mrs,
Marie Eckert, of Clinton,
Following an address read by
her aunt, Mrs. Donelda Sturg-
eon, Rebecca Fawcett and
Cathy Orr presented the bride-
to-be with many lovely and
useful kitchen articles, and
assisted Janet in opening her
gifts. The young ladies also
fashioned a perky spring bon-
net from the ribbons and bows
taken from the parcels,
Janet thanked everyone for
the lovely gifts and Mrs. Faw-
cett and Mrs. Orr, assisted by
their daughters Rebecca and
Cathy, served a tasty lunch.
CANCER FUND DRIVE
The Bayfield District 1974
Cancer Fund Drive was very
successful. Ten canvassers
jointly collected $325.75. The
chairman Mr. Frank Burch
wishes to express his most sinc-
ere thanks to the canvassers,
Mrs. Irene Apedaile, Mr.
Harry Baker, Mrs. Betty Burch,
Mrs. Greta DuBoulay, Mrs,
Evelene Earl, Mrs. Betty Garr-
ett, Mrs. Berthena Hammond,
Mrs. Dorothy Hovey, Mr. Lloyd
Makins and Mrs. Vera Miller;
and to all those who donated
