Vunastra wants recreation area,
The Vanastra recreation area
will be formed at Vanastra if
the Ontario Municipal Board
will approve the project.
Eleven residents presented a
petition to members of Tuck-
ersmith Council at a meeting
last Tuesday. The petition
bears 96 names or '79 percent
of the names of registered prop-
erty owners at Vanastra and
requests that Tuckersmith set
up the recreation area.
The go ahead was made when
Keith Coomber of Egmondville
made the motion to accept the
petition and this was seconded
by Vince Fowlie of Vanastra.
Clerk James Macintosh was
authorized to prepare the nec-
essary bylaw.
Dick Leahnen was spokesman
for the group and outlined the
proposal. The bylaw will state
that the petitioners will support
the proposed project with taxes
levied against their respective
property.
The bylaw will authorize
the appointment by council of
members to the community
centre board consisting of two
members of Tuckersmith coun-
cil (Reeve plus one councillor)
and five area residents.
