The survey was sent out in reply to a request by Grand Bend council sometime ago after Bell Telephone announced a similar questionnaire to its Exeter customers had turned down the proposal, At last Monday night's regul- ar meeting, Grand Bend l WWtuary MISS ETI LEL FO1\'LIE A lifeelong resident of Bayfield, Miss Ethel Helena Fowlie passed away in Clinton Public hospital, on Sunday, April 21, in her 74th year. She was born on Septemebr 24, 1900, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James William Fowlie, of Bayfield. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Koehler, Zurich; one brother, Fred rowlie, of London and two nephews, John Worsen of White Horse, Yukon, and Clyde Worse ll, of Surrey, B.C, Tlie body rested at the West- lake Funeral Venue, Zurich, where the service took place on Tuesday, April 28, ar 2 p.m with Rev. G, L. Royal officiat- ing. Interment was made in rhe Bayfield Cemetery. In reply to a letter from Lambton County council saying rhe Grand Bend request for relief from the increase in county lev- ies for 1974 was filed, Webster said "that's a very unsatisfactory answer. I wanted them to take another look at it and be posit- ive," Reeve Bob Sharon explained that the budget had already been approved by bylaw before the Grand Bend protest was made. Council announced dates for the annual spring cleanup when items not normally picked up by the garbage truck will be collected. Included in the pickup will be brush, old furniture and any items too large for normal collection. Leaves will not be accepted.
