Ontario could do specifically
to hold down on prices. Liberal
Leader Robert Nixon said prices
in Northern Ontario are higher
than those paid in the rest of
the Province and suggested a
Provincial cushion on fuel prices
for Northeners.
Murray Gaunt, Liberal Mem-
ber for Huron Bruce spoke on
the Throne Debate this week
and strongly criticized the Ont-
ario Hydro's methods of negot-
iation and purchase of property
for the power line corridor from
Douglas Point. He also critic-
ized the choice of route for
this corridor which� at present
is to go through 801 of class
1 and 2 agricultural land where-
as an alternate route could
have crossed only about 40'/o
of class 1 and 2 land.
In other matters this weekm
Pat Reid, Liberal Member and
labour critique from Rainy
River, was elected Chairman
of the Public Accounts Commit-
tee of the Ontario Legislature
which studies revenues and
expenditures of the Provincial
Government of the preceding
year. Also the new Health
Minister, the Honourable Frank
Miller indicated that the govern
ment may possibly reconsider
allowing licensed denturists to
work directly with the public.
Mrs. William Ziler is improv
ing nicely after surgery at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beierl-
ing London spent the weekend
with Mrs. William Beierling anc
Mrs. William Fischer. They
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Fischer and family and
attended Susan's confirmation
at Grand Bend United Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cornelious
and family, Sarnia, spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs,
Mervyn Tiernan.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader
were Sunday guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Scott and fam-
ily.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bordon
and family, Huron Park, were
dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Ken McCrae.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love spent
Sunday at Sarnia with Mr. and
Mrs. Clare Love and family.
The United Church Women
were in fharge of the church
service at Calvary United
Church Sunday morning. Mrs.
Mervy Tiernan presided, Mrs.
Jack Gaiser read the scripture
lesson and ushers were Mrs.
Greta Schade and Mrs. Eben
Weigand. Soloists were Miss
Susan Grigg and. Harold Bordon,
Huron Park, who also sang a
number with his children. Guest
speaker was Mrs. Douglas War-
ren, Crediton.
Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Merner,
Kitchener and Mr. and Mrs,
Arnold Merner, Zurich, were
visitors with Mrs. Susan Merri-
er and Mrs. Louella Tieman,
Sunday.
DASHWOOD BROWNIES
The meeting opened with a
Leap Frog Relay. Brown Owl
and Tawny Owl called the Brow-
nies into the fairy ring. Brownie
Promise, six songs and Fairy
Gold was collected. Fairy Queer.
was Mary Lou Grigg, the Snowy
Owl, Sing song and Pow Wow
followed with a discussion of

Daughter dinner in April and
May. The Tweenies practiced
their law, promise and braiding
in preparation fot testing. All
Brownies practiced their kniting.
Bulbs were planted by the girls
who missed the previous week.
Sixteen girls were in attendance.
4- H MEETING
Club No III of Dashwocd
4-H girls held their fifth meet-
ing with leaders Mrs. Delmar
Miller, Mrs. Ernest Miller and
ten girls present,. Following bus-
iness the club joined Club II
which had ten girls present.
BEEF SUBSIDY
representatives, provincial
authorities, Agriculture Canada
division staff, or directly from
the Agricultural Stabilization
Board Office, in Ottawa. The
address of the office in Ottawa

ing Building, Ottawa, Ontario,

The girls discussed a beautiful
complexion. Carol Zimmer, an
Avon representative for this
area showed different types of
make-up and using Jayne Hayter
as a model, how to apply it.
The girls were allowd to try
the products on themselves.
Club No II and III held their
sixth meeting at the home of
Mrs. Ray Rader, with 21 girls
answereing the roll call,
"One Health Habit I will follow
that will make a lovely compl-
exion.
Mrs. Beatty Rau, special
guest, discussed and demonstr-
ated how to care for hair and
hair styling. Using Mrs, Earl
Keller and Mrs. Delmar Miller
as models, she then demonstrat-
ed hair styling.
The girls then had fun comb-
ing out and trying on wigs
which Mrs. Keller brought to
the meeting.
