After the January thaw over
the weekend, yesterday's wintry
squall has turned the country-
side into a beautiful winter
wonderland. Perhaps some nip-
py weather would curb some of
the flu germs that seem to be
striking many people in the
community., although we have
not felt it necessary to ban
visitors from the Home.
Perhaps because of illness
or maybe just the slump that
seems to be common during
January, this week has been a
fairly quiet one.
,Films were enjoyed on Mon-
day evening, and since we Have
been getting a new series which
are quite interesting, perhaps
our readers would enjoy the
films on Monday evenings at
'7 p.m. which is always follow-
ed by coffee.
At Christmas time we had
a draw on a quilt. In case you
are wondering, Mrs. Dougall,
of Exeter, daughter-in-law of
Mr. Andrew Dougall, a resident
here, was the lucky winner.
A new Electrohome organ has
been installed in the chapel
through the generosity of the
Zurich Lions Club. I know many
of the organists who conte in
for the chapel service will be
as pleased as we are. Rev, A C,
Blackwell, who arranges the
chapel services through the
Ministerial Association will be
making plans for the dedication
service. We will be making this
announcement when the date is
available.
Sincere sympathy is extended to

The beautiful sunny weather
on Firday prompted some of the
residents to request a bus ride.
They travelled down to Grand
Bend and along Lake Huron and
watched the hovercraft which
had been launched on the lake.
On Friday evening, bingo was
enjoyed followed by refreshment;
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Andrew Blackwell, of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Zurich. Mr.
Henry Flaxbard's granddaughter,
Mrs. Shirley Cooper presided
at the organ and accompanied
Mrs. Albert Deichert who lead
the singing during the worship
service.

The people who started the
mandatory use of seat belts with
such startling loss prevention
improvement, have done it
again. According to the Ontario
Safety League, some 70 per-
cent of Australian insurance
companies have fixed the max-
imum blood aldohol limit of
.10 percentage stating that
motorists with amounts in their
blood above this percentage
will have their insurance inval-
idated. The presumptive limit
above which all motorists are
deemed to be "under the influ-
ence" of alcohol, is .05 percent
in Victoria, and . 08 in all
other states in Australia,
