The car driver, Donald Gifford, and his passenger, James Neil- son, of Dashwood, received minor bruises. John Musser, of Exeter, was taken to University Hospital, London, by Hoffman's Ambulance where he is being treated for arm and leg fract- ures. The investigating officer, Bill McIntyre, set damages at $750. Constable Dale Lamont is investigating the theft of a car owned by Jack Taylor of R.R.3, Exeter, The late model vehicle was taken from Taylor's garage on Thursday and found a few days later near the Exeter Arena. While investigating the theft of the Taylor car, Constable Lam- ont recovered a car which had been stolen earlier from Math- ers Motors, Exeter. This vehicle had been abandoned on Conces- sion 5, Usborne Township. Charges have been laid in connection with the theft of a truck owned by Richard Bedard, R.R.2, Zurich, from the Zur- ich Arena parking lot. The theft was reported on Thursday evening. The truck was later recovered in Hensall. A juven- ile and an_18-year-old Hensell youth have been charged in connection with the offence. Constable Don Mason is invest- igating assisted by Constables Bill Glassford and Al Quinn. A small wood stove was stolen from a shed on the farm of Leonard Lovell, Hay Township, last Friday. The stove was valu- ed at $30. Constable Bill Lewis is investigating. Honor couple on 50th anniversary Approximately ninety guests gathered at the Township Hall, Zurich, to honour Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd O'Brien on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniv- ersary. Congratulatory messages. were received from the Federal and Provincial Governments, Governor General and Mrs. Michener, and the local memb- ers of Parliament, Robert E. McKinley and Jack Riddell. Lloyd O'Brien and Vera Rich- ardson were married at the home of the bride's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Richardson, on the Parr Line, Hay Township, January 9, 1924, at twelve noon. Rev. A. Sinclair officiat- ed at the ceremony and Leroy O'Brien and Mrs. Annie Ashman (nee Richardson) attendedthe bridal couple. Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien have five children, Mrs. Ken Weber (Dorothy) of Bayfield; Mrs. Arthur MacLean, (Helen) of London; Mrs. Donald Oke (Betty) Mrs. Morris Webb, (Kay) and Eugene, all of Zurich. Another son Jack, passed away some years ago. Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien are active members of Emmanuel United Church, Zurich. Mr. O'Brien served many years in municipal life for Zurich, and when the village was incorporat- ed in 1960, he served as the first Reeve.
