They are Fancily Studies and and Environmental Science, Irlr, Wells said that the Fam- ily Studies guideline, designed for students in grades '7 to 1t, emphasizes the role of the fam- ily in society. Courses develop- ed from the guideline will, Mr. Wells said, help students to understand and appreciate many of the factors that cont- ribute to the quality of living. The guideline centres on five major areas of study; child development, the management of family resources, housing, food and nutrition and clothing. Mr. Wells said that the Env- ironmental Science guideline represents a "sharpened emphas- is on environmental studies in the schools," "The natural components of our environment, including air, water, soil, energy, plant life, forests and wildlife receive major emphasis in the guide- line.
