FOSTER PARENTS NIGHT - A special night was held last Wednesday at Pineridge Chalet when
the Huron County Children's Aid Society honoured the Foster Parents. Shown here left to right are
Norman Tait, president of the Foster Parents group, Mrs. Tait, Douglas Finlay, speaker for the
occasion, Mrs. D. Bartliff, president of the Children's Aid Society, Mrs. Russell Snider, treasurer
of the Foster Parents group, John Siertsema, vice-president, and Bruce Heath, director of the
Children's Aid.
HONOUR LOCAL GROUP - A Zurich area couple, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Gingerich, centre, were
honoured at the special night last Wednesday night for Foster Parents in Huron County. The couple
were presented with a certificate for 10 years service to the organization. On the left is Douglas
Finlay, senior co-ordinator for the Children's Services Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Health,
and on the right is Bruce Heath, director of the Huron County Children's Aid Society.

Obituary
ALPHONSUS DIETRICH
A life- long resident of this
area, Alphonsus Dietrich passed
away at South Huron Hospital,
Exeter,' on Friday, October 19,
in his 73rd year. Born in Hay
Township on July 29, 1901, he
was a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Simon Dietrich.
For many years Mr. Dietrich
operated a farm in Hay Town-
ship before retiring to the Vill-
age of Zurich some years ago.
He was a member of St. Bonif-
ace Roman Catholic Church and
the Holy Name Society.
Surviving besides his wife,
the former Marcella Farwell,
are two sons, Donald, of London
and Harry, of Zurich, two
daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Irene)
McCann, Mt. Carmel, and
Mrs. Lawrence (Dianne) Becker,
Crediton; one brother, Irvin,
of London; and three sisters,
Mrs. Laura Prevost, of London;
Mrs. George (Ethel) Regier,
R.R.3, Zurich; and Mrs. Edwin
(Agnes) Regier, R.R.3, Zurich.
There are also 12 grandchildren.
The body rested at the West-
lake Funeral Home, Zurich,
until Monday morning when
funeral mass took place at St.
Boniface Roman Catholic Church
Zurich, with interment in the
adjoining cemetery. Father A.
Durand officiated.
Pallbearers were Karl, Clare,
Clarence, Patrick, Donald
and Lloyd Regier.
