Obituaries
HAROLD A, JOHNSTON
A prominent Zurich business-
man for many years, Harold A,
Johnston passed away suddenly
at his home in the village on
Monday, October 15, in his
71st year. He was born on Sept-
ember 13, 1903, a son of the
.4410. late Mr. and Mrs. Ross Johnston.
Mr. Johnston operated a barb-
er shop downtown in Zurich for
many years and for the past
while had continued his business
at his home. FIe was a former
member of the Emmanuel Unit-
ed Church.
Surviving besides his wife,
the former Edna Gingerich, is
one son, Robert, of Seaforth,
and two grandchildren.
The body rested at the West-
lake Funeral Home, Zurich,
where the service took place
on Wednesday, October 17, at
2 p.m. Interment was made in
the Emmanuel United Church
Cemetery, Bronson Line. Rev.
Bruce Guy officiated.
MILTON RUSSELL
Milton Moir Russell passed
away at the Queensway Nursing
Home in Hensall on Monday,
October 15, in his 90th year.
Beloved husband of the late
Mary C. (Dunsford) Russell, and
father of Mrs. Don (Isabel)
Wilson of Tucson, Arizona; Mrs.
Irene Bossenberry of Grand Bend
Mrs. Don (Audrey) Joynt of
Hensall and a son, Homer, of
R.R.1, Exeter. Predeceased by
daughter, Margaret. Also surv-
iving are fifteen grandchildren
and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The late Mr. Russell rested
at the Bonthron Funeral Chapel
in Hensall when funeral service
was held Tuesday, October 16,
at 2 p.m. with Rev. George
Anderson officiating. Interment
in Exeter Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Russell,
Paul Bossenberry, Pat Joynt,
John Joynt, Doug Barnes and
Bill Rosser.

governing combinations of
meat and protein from sources
other than meat are presently
being prepared by Agriculture
Canada. Soyaburger, while not
nutritionally inferior to ham-
burger, should retail at about
0 cents a pound less.

FREAK STORM FELLS TREES ON
OXFORD STREET IN HENSALL
St. Boniface CVL
The monthly meeting of the
St. Boniface Catholic Women's
League was held in the St.
Boniface School auditorium on
October 9, following Mass for
vocations at 8 p.m. There were
30 members present.
Sister Louise, principal of
St. Boniface School, was guest
speaker. She explained the pro-
gram for the coming school
year. She said the first of a
series of meetings for the par-
ents and teachers would be held
on October 25.
Plans for the Parish party to
be held November 17, in Zur-
ich Arena were discussed. The
proceeds from this function are
to be sent to Brother Bob.

NFU LUCKY DRAW
On Friday evening, October
5, the National Farmer's Union,
District 5, had a packed Hall
at Sebringville for a dance and
the draw of tickets on a car,
ski-doo, and color television.
The draw was made by Miss
Sheila Armstrong, the. Queen
of the Furrow. The lucky
winners were, ticket no. 6239,
Earl Schmids, of Milverton,
won the car; for the Ski-doo,
ticket no 4062, Mrs. Martha
Hanson, Stratford; for the color -
