BRIDAL SHOWER Miss Judy Guy, bride -elect of June has been honoured with several showers, A miscellan- eous shower was held at the home of Mrs, Nancy Guy, Denfield, for Judy's relatives and friends from the Ilderton area as well as Windsor, Essex, and Wards- ville. Mrs. Nancy Guy and Mrs. Carol Burt, Windsor were the hostesses. A kitchen shower was held at the home of Mrs. Mildred Mc - Ash, Varna, for Paul's relatives and friends from the area. Mrs. McAsh and Mrs. Peggy Morrison Ilderton, were the hostesses. Friends and neighbours and ladies of the Dashwood and Zur- ich United Church Women hori- oured Judy with a surprise show- er Wednesday, May 16, at Cal- vary United Church. Carter, 50, has been appointed Huron County judge, Justice Minister Otto Lang announced last Thursday. He fills a post left vacant by the death of Judge R. S. Hetherington, 64, April 5, 1973. The Liberal candidate in the 1967 provincial election, Mr. Carter was defeated by Premier John Robarts. Mr. Carter also made an unsuccessful bid in 1966 for a spot on the London board of control. Born in St. John's Nfld., Mr. Carter received his education at St. Bonaventure's College, St Francis Xavier University and Osgoode Hall. While at Osgoode he received the Sir George Johsnon Scholar- ship. He was called to the bar in 1950. Mr, Carter worked on the staff of the Financial Post for two years and was the author of numerous articles on the legal history of Middlesex County for The Free Press. He is a former president of the Middlesex Law Association. Mr. Carter is the author of a book, Judicial Decisions on Den. o:ninational Schools. The thrilling ride was provided by Jane Sherman and was one of many 'for -the -first-time' adventures experienced by the pair during their recent eight-day CBC Radio concert tour of Canada's North.
