At 2.30 p.m. on Mother's
Day, May 13, a service of ded-
ication and baptism was held
at the Zurich Emmanuel United
Church. Marc David Amacher,
son of Dr. Loren and Jane Am-
acher, of London, was dedicat-
ed, and Stacy Lianne Amacher,
daughter of Dennis and Diane
Amacher, of Smiths Falls, was
baptized by Rev. A.M. Amach-
er, their grandfather.
Those present were Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Tomlison, grandpar-
ents of Marc, of London, and
their son, David; Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Bigelow, of Bramelea,
grandparents of Stacey, and
their daughter, Patsy, and sons,
Robert, and David; Dr. and Mrs.
Loren Amacher, and their sons,
Scott, Jon, and Marc; Dennis
and Dianne and Stacy Amacher,
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Brokenshire,
and daughter, Jodie, of Zurich,
and Rev. and Mrs. A.M. Ama-
cher.

Three school bus loads of
students from Clinton and Arva
visited Grand Bend on Wednes-
day afternoon keeping the local
variety store busy.
Rev. Mary Mills, of Glencoe
was guest minister for the Moth-
er's Day Service at St -John's -
by -the -Lake Anglican Church.
Rev. W. Mills and his wife are
away on a holiday.
Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Adams,
with Mrs. Susie Devine, of
Grand Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Don
Hendrick, Pamela and Paul of
Wyoming, all attended the
christening of Geoffrey Scrim-
egour, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lanny Scrimegour in the Cent-
ennial United Church in London
on Sunday.
The United Church congreg-
ation enjoyed the Junior Sunday
School children's choruses and
heard the sermon by Rev. H.G.
Dobson, on the "Christian Home
For the Mother's Day Service
at the Church of God, Rev. E.J.
Wattam spoke on "Motherhood."
The Sunday school children
sang, "Jesus is the Rock of my
Salvation, and "Happiness is."

of Mrs. Mason in Grand Bend
Public School have exchanged
information books with the
Grade V class of Miss Derk in
Edson, Alberta, They received
booklets on Transportation,
Industries, History of the School,

Hockey star at MAA banquet
Don Luce, a star centre for
the Buffalo Sabres, will be the
guest speaker at the annual
Father and Son Banquet next
Thursday, sponsored by the
Zurich Minor Athletic Assoc-
iation.
He was born in London, 25
years ago, and during the off-
season, he and his wife make
their home in Kitchener.
Don played with the Kitchen-
er Rangers during his Junior "A"
years, and from there went to
the New York Rangers of the
National Hockey League. He
then played for the Detroit Red
Wings before joining the Buffalo
tSables Club two years ago. This

pupils are replying to the pen
pals' letters. Grand Bend stud-
ents sent booklets on "Grand
Bend's Tourism, " Fishing,
Sports, Bell Aerospace, to pen
pals etc., about six weeks ago.
The idea is to know more about
Ontario and Alberta.

awarded the Charlie Barton Merr
orial Award for his outstanding
performance during the 1972-
73 season.
Don's horizons look bright
indeed, as the Buffalo Sabres
have made it clear that he fig-
ures prominently in their plans
for the future. He is coming to
Zurich through the courtesy of
Labatt's Brewery.
