Budget proposed for 1973 is; expenditures, $147, 020.00; receipts, $11, 300.00; balance of taxes amounting to $135, 720. with expected government grant of $16, 000. It is expected the mill rate will be five mills less than last years. Taxes will be collected in two installments. A grant of $75 was made to the South Huron Agricultural Society. Mrs. Irene Blackwell presiding and being assisted by V.G. Mrs. Aldeen Volland. Sister Olga Chipchase was reported to have returned home from hospital and improving in health, Cards had been sent to the hospital and a gift will be presented later. A donation has been forward- ed to the Canadian Cancer Soc- iety. The committee in charge reported having a small profit from the booth at the McBeath house sale, An invitation was received from Morning Star Lodge, Brussels, to attend a banquet and anniversary party on June 6. A number of memb- ers plan to attend. Quite a number of members attended the 25th birthday anniversary at the Atwood com- munity centre of Monkton Star Lodge., when over 250 people were in attendance, The Reb- ekah members and Oddfellows will be attending a Church service in Hensall United Church on May 20. President Mrs. Rachel Schwalm presided and opened with a poem "This Old World. " Mrs. Ruby Hoggarth and Mrs. Edith Bell took charge of the program and worship, using serif ture taken from 'sail'. The theme for the topic was "Ye p shall bear witness." A poem entitled "My Prayer" was read. The roll call was answered by 10 members with the naming of a missionary. Plans were made for the spring meeting of the Huron Presbyterial to be held in Carme Church, June 16, at 1:30. Mrs. R.A. Orr gave a report on the Hamilton -London Synodical which she attended in Winghant recently. Plans were also made for the 83rd WMS birthday party Harry with be held on June 4, Mrs. Snell closed the meeting prayer, Ladies Aid meeting with Mrs, Aldeen Vol- land presiding and Mrs. Jean Snell acting as secretary. It was reported that the proceeds from the "Luncheon is Served" din- ner was most gratifying.
