The Zurich Juveniles of the
WOAA Baseball League will
open their spring training Mon-
day night, starting at 8:30
sharp, under the direction of
Jerry Rader.
All Juvenile calibre players
in the Zurich, Hensall and
surrounding area are welcome
to try out, also any midgets are
invited.
The team is in bad need of
a manager and coaches. Anyone
interested should come to the
park the night of the practice.
Last year's coaches and manag-
ers will help in getting the boys
new coaches and a manager
started.

Mrs. Marie Watson and Mrs.
Elva Metcalf have returned
home after spending the past
two weeks in Cortez, Florida,
on Tampa Bay, where they stay-
ed at the Albion Inn. Cortez is
the oldest fishing village in
Florida. Mrs. Metcalf reported
they went deep sea fishing one
morning on the Gulf of Mexico
and she caught three fish; two
red gruper, and one sand perch,
but one of the gruper was a good
size and she had to call on Mrs.
Watson to assist her in landing
it.
Mr..arid Mrs. Bob Davidson,
Windsor, were weekend guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pounder,
of Lambeth, at their Bayfield
Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Les Batchelor,
Dundalk, visited Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Haw.

Stephen Township council
has given approval for an open
season on deer in Huron in 1973
as requested by the Ontario
Ministry of Natural Resources.
Hunting of deer in Huron
would be restricted to those per-
sons using bows and arrows as
weapons.
The Ministry has suggested
the deer season in Huron County
be open from October 29 to
November 25 of this year.
At last Tuesday's meeting
of council, Clerk Wilmar Wein
was instructed to prepare a fire-
works bylaw, for the township.
The new law would restrict
the sale of fireworks to persons
18 years of age or more and
prohibit the setting off of fire-
works on public property.
Approval has been received
from the Ontario Ministry of the
Environment to operate the

at the westerly end of the mun-
icipality.
No word has been received as
yet from the hearing several
months ago on Stephen's applic-
ation to operate their main
dump on concession 5.
Glenn Webb presented a 1973
budget in the amount of $1, 100
for rhe Dashwood athletic field.
The township has formed a
recreation council and allotted
a total budget of $3, 500. Bud-
gets have also been received
from the other police villages.
