Also at Huronview, the fuel oil tenders was let to Ross Scott Fuels, Brucefield, for 12.95 cents per gallon. Last year's oil cost 14.16 cents per gallon. Snow removal at Huronview will cost $11 per hour this year and the contract goes to Glen Layton, R. R. 5, Clinton. Lay- ton had the contract last year at the same cost. Total expenditures in the Social Services department amounted to $232, 314.58 as of October 31, 1972. The county share amounted to $62, 313.90 with the province contributing the balance. The county share is approximately $15, 000 less than anticipated and it is exp- ected the surplus willbe maint- ained for the balance of the year John McKinnon said the surp- lus is due to the fact the prov- ince on Ontario is taking over the extended care program for nursing home patients. Next year's committee struct- ure will be a little different. Th, development committee will be divorced from the planning board and will be set up with a separate committee consisting of five members. This commit- tee's responsibility will be the development officer, tourism, reforestation properties and agricultural matters. The function of the county museum will be transferred back to the property committee. Two additional members will be added to the Social Service Committee, although only four of the total could represent County Council on the Children': Aid Board. University of Western Ontario scholarships were approved for John Goddard, of Hensall and Miss Margaret Gorwill, Seaforth. A scholarship for Joseph Phelan, R. R.2, Blyth, a student at Ridgetown College of Agricult- ural Technology, was also ap- proved. 0 Police Report On Sunday at 10.45 , a car driven by Larry Whiting, Exeter, skidded out of control on Huron Street East and collided with a hydro pole, The driver receiv- ed lacerations in the collision. Total damage was estimated at $2, 000. by Constable Al Quinn. On Saturday at 1.15 a. m. a car driven by Richard Quesnel, Crediton, collided with a hydro pole on Huron County Road 4. A passenger in the car Robin O'Brien, Dashwood, received head injuries. Total damage was estimated at $800. by Constable Frank Giffin. On Saturday at 1.40 a.m. a car driven by Valerie Regier, Zurich, skidded out of control on Highway 83 west of Exeter and collided with a tree. A passenger in the car, Diane Klopp, Zurich, received minor injuries. Total damage was estimated at $1700. by Const- able Bob Whiteford. Area motorists are advised the new multi-year licence plates are now available at the local licencing offices. The schedule of fees has been chang- ed also. An eight -cylinder vehicle licence is $40.; a six - cylinder vehicle licence is $32.; while four -cylinder or less vehicles are $23. The exp- iry date for current licence plates is February 28, 1973. 0 Kloo Lake, on the Alaska Highway, north of Vancouver, Yukon, was narned after the Indian name for "fish." Mr, and Mrs. Henry Becker, Mr, and Mrs. Lorne Becker and Wayne, Mrs. Wilmer Pfaff and Bruce, Mrs. Donald Glanville attended the funeral of Mrs. Henry Becker's brother, Milton Brandt, at Kitchener, on Mon- day.
