Cooper, Mount Clemens, Mich• igan are spending a few days in the village; guests with them for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Gawain Johns and Gavin, Mount Clemens, Mich; Mr. Joel Ronwski, New Baltimore, Mich., and Miss Linda Brum- berg, New Baltimore, Mich. Mr. Renouf Johns, Mount Clemens, Mich., spent the weekend at this home in Bay- field. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mc- Cormick, London, are visiting with their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ken Weston of Farmington, Mich., at their cottage. Master Dennis Florian, Clinton is spending a few days with his aunt, Mrs. Jack Ham- mond, Mrs. Flora Paquette has ret- urned to her home in Ottawa after spending the past week with her son-in-law, daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Orr, Billy, Ray and Cathy. Mrs. Margaret Day, Bloom- field Hills, Mich., visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Norman F. Cooper following an extended holiday in Tuscon Arizona. Miss Rhea Sturgeon, London, was with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Sturgeon during the holiday weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pruss and family, London, spent Labour Day weekend at their cottage in the village. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Knight and daughters, of Toronto, and Messers. Bill and Gil Lat- imer were weekend guests of the formers mother, Mrs. Gilbert Knight. Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Higgins enjoyed a two week holiday recently in the Highlands of Haliburton as the guests of his aunt, Mrs. G.M. Chesney. Mr. Kenny Arkell, North- wood, Middlesex, England spent a few days last week visit- ing his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Arkell, enroute to enter college at Liberty, Missouri. Miss Joanne Arkell and Chris Unsworth, Northwood, Middle- sex, England, are holidaying for three weeks with the form- er's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Arkell. Mrs. Ted Morley, Cleveland, Ohio, has recently purchased the Baker residence from Mr. Harry Baker on Highway 21 in the village. Mrs, Morley is the former Peggy Burt, niece of Harry Baker and she was born in the home she has just pur- chased. Mrs. Morley's recent guests were Tom and Ken Gulling, Mrs. Betty Telfer and son Dav- id all of Avon Lake, Ohio; her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Crnjak, Cleveland, Ohio, and Robbie Morley (her son). Mr. and Mrs. Howard Scot- chmer, Robert and Lori have returned to Chatham after spending the past week with his mother, Mrs. L.W. Scotchmer. Mr. and Mrs. Don Larsh and Ann Margaret, Chatham, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Talbot and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Don Corriveau Sheila and Bryan, Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs, Bob Desjardine and Paula, Comber spent the weekend with the ladies' parents Mr. and Mrs. John Wild and family. Cpl. and Mrs, Stan Smith, Lea Ann and Lisa, of Camp Borden were guests of her par- ents Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Larson for the past week. Mr. Bud Robinson, North Bay, was with his mother, Mrs. E.B. Robinson for the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. George Cant - rick, Birmingham, Michigan, are spending a few days in the village. Through the kindness and gen- erosity of Pioneer Park Assoc- iation, a very enjoyable Band Concert was held in Pioneer Park last Saturday evening. A group called Anvil from Kitchener -Waterloo area, under the direction of Dave Church, who plays base guitar and back-up vocal with Ed Burth- wright, lead guitar, Larry Heimpelon, drums, and Carol Johns, vocal, played for the evening performance for over 200 young and not so young adults. The group and organizers of the concert send out a very special thank - you to Pioneer Park Association for the use f)f their very lovely park. Mr. Lloyd Clifton, student minister of Knox Presbyterian Church, for the summer months and Mr. Doug Allen, youth co-ordinator, have returned to their respective studies. Bayfield Volunteer Firemen were called out Sunday morn- ing to extinguish a chimney fire in the Aylesworth cottage on Tuyll Street. Many of our summer residents have left the village after spending the summer season with us, but tell us they will return on weekends as long as the weather permits. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Krohmer and family who have operated Cedar Grove for the summer have returned to their home in London; but intend to come back for the weekends, hopefully until Thanksgiving. 0 At the end of a hard week at the office our spirits were raised when one employee sighed thank- fully, "I prayed all week for Friday to come, and today my prayers were finally answered!" About People Miss Esther Steckle returned to E.M.C. Harrisonburg, Va., to resume studies in nursing, after spending a short holiday with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Johnston and family spent the holiday weekend at Owen Sound with the latter's parents Sergeant and Mrs. Cecil Gibbons. News of Kippen Mrs. George Blake and Roxy of London visited with Mr, and Mrs. Vivan Cooper. Mrs. Isabelle Seifert, Bram- alea was a recent visitor with Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Mellis. Mrs. Ed McBride spent some time with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Pine, Sault Ste.
