answer to a question from a
ratepayer, that building lots in
Zurich could be approximately
7500 square feet.
Mr. Davidson suggested to the
meeting that "the potential is
here for Zurich, if they go after
it 1" He added that a recent
agricultural survey indicated
that farmers will remain loyal
to their closest community, as
long as they provide the serv-
ices and commodities necessary
at reasonable prices.
Gary Flaxbard, who was in
charge of the Opportunities for
Youth project in the area this
summer, which included a surv-
ey of area cottagers, spoke to
the meeting briefly expressing
some of his views. He stressed
the fact that business places in
Zurich must do a better job of
promoting themselves to the
tourist trade, and suggested that
some type of advertising would
help considerably.
In closing the meeting, reeve
Gordon Hess suggested to the
gathering that they should cons-
ider all the recommendations
in the plan very carefully. He
added that if the plan is accept-
ed, it would still take a number
of years to see all the recom-
mendations fullfilled.
