students in the kindergarten and
in September there will be nine

Mr. Lane reported the compl-
etion of details in the purchase
of the 208 Queen Street prop-
erty in Stratford to enlarge the
Immaculate Conception play-
ground and that as soon as the
deed was received the property
committee would call for tend-
ers for the demolition of the
house. Mr. Morris said an
extension would have to be made
for demolition of the building
on September 1 to October.
The Board granted permission
to the City of Stratford to use
the separate schools for polling
places for the upcoming mun-
icipal election.
The Board refused a request
from a solicitor for Miss Edith
Robinson that she be allowed
to have a fence built three feet
in on j the school property
adjacent to her property at
216 Queen Street in Stratford.
Reporting for the Building
and Maintenance Committee,
Trustee Vincent Young of God-
erich reported on asphalting,
etc.being carried out at the
various separate school in Huron
and Perth. He received permis-
sion for his committee to go
ahead and have signs put on all
the schools --unauthorized Pers-
ons and Vehicles Prohibited.
He said his committee felt these
signs were necessary, not to
keep out children playing on
the grounds when the schools
were closed, but others such as
snowmobile operators, This
will enable the police to enf-
orce the rules.
Mr. Vincent reported that
seven bids had been received
to supply No 2 fuel oil to the
eleven schools heated by this
method and that the lowest had
been accepted, that of Ross
Scott, Brucefield, at a cost of
16.3 cents per gallon,
Trustee Arthur Haid, R. R.4,
Listo*el, made recommend-
ations that were approved by the
Board; that William Baechler
of Zurich be appointed as full
time bus driver at St. Boniface
School in Zurich, and that Lee
Regier become a full time
custodian at the same school.

Mr. and Mrs. Bud Parker,
Port Dover, visited last week

Mr. Gordon Merrill, of Bay-
field and Mr. Emile Habib, of
Toronto, arrived in Montreal
on August 16, after spending
a six week vacation in Egypt.
They visited friends and rel-
atives of Emile in Cairo and
Alexandria, and travelled south
to Luxor and Aswan, photo-
graphing Greek, Roman and
Pharonic antiquities throughout
Egypt for the Classics Depart-
ment of Brock University, St.
Catherines.

Fred Peters returned home
this week from St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, where he has
been a patient for the past two

That the owned school bus
drivers be paid the rate of $10
per day for morning and night
runs (the same as for the 1971-72
school term) and the rate for
extra -curricular driving be
increased from $2.50 per hour
to $3.00 per hour, effective
September 1, 1972.
