Accidents keep police busy

On Monday at 8,20 p.m.
a car driven by Jona Hamilton,
London, failed to negotiate a
detour on the Crediton Road
and struck a bridge culvert
under construction west of
Highway 4. Hoffman's Ambul-
ance took the passenger, Larry
Klyne, London, to St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, where he
was treated for cuts and bruises.
The driver was treated at
South Huron Hospital, for ser-
ious head lacerations. Const-
able Al Quinn estimated the
damage at $400.
Stolen property this week
includes a tape deck valued at
$150. taken from a truck
owned by Thomas Ruggaber,
London. The truck had been

A total of 54 Highway Traf-
fic Act charges were laid by
Exeter officers during the week.
The majority of this was a res-
ult of the Aircraft Patrol over
Highway 4.
This week prior to Civic
Holiday, from July 30 to
August 5, there were only two
accidents investigated by the
Exeter detachment.
On Sunday, cars driven by
Joseph Strang, London, and
Peter Enwright, London collid-
ed on Highway No 81 north of
Greenway. Enwright and his
passenger, Janice Baker,
London received minor bruises.
Total damage was estimated
at $1300. by Constable Don
Mason.
On Wednesday, cars driven by
Peter Pryde and Mary Triebner,
both of Exeter, collided on
Brock Street, in Hensall. Total
damage was estimated at
$110 by Constable Al Quinn.
Stolen property reported to
the Exeter detachment this
week was valued at $2500,
A 14 -ft. aluminum canoe,
owned by John Guay, London,
was stolen from his cottage
at Elmwood Beach north of
Grand Bend. A fire extinguish-
er, owned by Cleve Pullman,
Usborne Township, was taken
from his swather which was
parked near a vacant farm
house. A dismantled steel
grain bin was taken from Cen€-
ralia Farmer's Supply. A 1968
Ford was stolen from the
Ravelle residence north of
Grand Bend.
Area motorists are reminded
that during the summer tourist
season you will see many cars
with licences from outside the
province. Many of these visitors
are here for the first time and
may not know all our traffic
rules and regulations. Whenever
you see a visiting motorist,
be a good host. Driver courtes-
