The standouts for Charlies' in the victory were Kevin McKinnon who pitched a fine game in al- lowing only two hits, and centre - fielder, Dave Stark who had two singles and a home run in his three times at the plate. Both teams were held scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Charlies sent three runners across the plate. They added their final run in the fifth inning, while the Leftovers scored their single run in the sixth. The other hits in the Charlies' batting assault were contributed by Ron Corriveau with two, and Richard Schilbe and Doug Stade with one apiece. Randy Decker pitched not only a fine game, but also a fine ser- ies for the Leftovers. Charlies now advance into a round-robin semi-final with the Barber Boys and Gingerichs' while the Leftovers meet the Farmer's Union and the Bluewater B. P, s in a consolation round-robin ser- ies, BARBER BOYS BEAT B P. 's The Barber Boys advanced into . the round-robin semi-finals by edging the Bluewater B. P.'s 10-9 , in a thrilling contest which saw a seventh inning rally staged by the B . P. 's, The Bluewater scored six runs in the inning but could not push across the big tieing run. Aubrey Bedard and Bob Johnston banged out two hits each for the Barbers, while Don O'Brien and Bob Merner added single hits. Dave Durand, Isidore LaPorte, Tony Denomme, Ron Overholt and Ken Durand had two hits each for the B. P. 's while Kyle Harrison, Gerard Charrette and Don Ayotte banged one hit each, Shane Mc- Kinnon and Phil Overholt pitched for the winners. Kyle Harrison pitched the entire game for the B, P.'s. CHARLIE'S DUMP BARBER BOYS Charlie's Auto Sales carne up with a convincing 16-10 victory over the Barber Boys in the first game of the round-robin semi- finals. The game was close until Charlie's exploded for 11 runs in the sixth inning. The Barbers threatened in the last of the seventh as they scored four runs, but Kevin McKinnon winning pitcher for Charlie's, cut the Barbers rally short. After the first inning the score was tied 3-3 but before the dis- astrous sixth inning the Barber Boys had built up a 6-3 lead. Bob .Johnston, Phil Overholt, Doug O'Brien and Eric Smale had two hits apiece while Bob Merner, Jim Bedard and Shane McKinnon had one hit each. • Kevin McKinnon pitched the victory for Charlies' while Phil Overholt went the distance for the Barber Boys except for a brief re- lief stint by Bob Merrier. C1-IARLIE'S DOWN GINGERICH'S Charlies Auto Sales scored their second consecutive win in the double round-robin series with the Barber Boys and Gingerich's Sales and Service, by downing Ginger- ich's 12-4 on Monday night. This victory means that Charlie's now have four points out of a possible maximum of eight points, with two games left to play. Richard Schilbe was the big gun at the plate for the winners as he knocked out three hits, in- cluding a three -bagger, while Bob McBride banged out two triple: Ron Corriveau, Pete Regier, and Dave Stark each had two hits as well, and Doug Stade and Kevin McKinnon had single safeties. For Gingerich's, Lloyd Lostell, Tony Bedard and Glenn Gascho each had two hits, while James Ramer had one. The winning pitching combin- ation for Charlies' was Gerry Rader and Kevin McKinnon who came on in relief. Tony Bedard and Richard Shantz hurled for the loser: In the third inning, Gingerich's came close to catching Charles' as they trailed by just one run, 4-3, but the eight runs scored by Charlies in the fourth put the game on ice.
