OFA President
Speaks To
Huron Group
About 80 persons attended the
July meeting of Huron County
Federation of Agriculture, to
hear Gordon hill, president of
the Ontario Federation of Agric-
ulture.
Mr. Hill, in his remarks, sug-
gested that farmers withhold the
education portion of their taxes.
"For 20 years we have been trying
to get a more equitable levy of
school tax, " he said. "Education
tax should be based, not on prop-
erty assessment, but on income,
which is a true indicator of your
ability to pay."
The OFA backs withholding of
the education portion of the tax
and Mr. Hill went on to point out
examples of unfairness,
Mr. Hill also commented on
the issue of the importation of
the powdered milk fromlreland
and said the OFA is supporting
the Ontario Milk Marketing
Board and the National Farmers'
Union in their demands that the
importation -be stopped.
Mason Bailey, individual sales
co-ordinator, reported that sales
had risen 105o over last month and
that there had been requests from
three townships for sales blitz.
In other business, the directors
turned down the proposal for five
districts in the county, preferring
to stay on a township level.
A resolution dealing with ask-
ing CPR and C NR railways to
maintain their fences in a satis-
factory condition was, passed.

The bride, given in marriage

peau de sole. The bodice with
empire waistline and round stand-
up collar was accented by rows of
delicate Swiss guipure lace appl-

were also trimmed with the ap-
pliques. The A-line skirt was
complimented by its cathedral -
length train which draped grace-
fully, from the mid -back to the
floor. Swiss guipure lace appl-
igues provided a delicate triol.
The bride's cathedral length
veil fell daintily frons a cluster
of lace petals interspersed with
tiny seed pearls. She carried a
cluster of yellow roses, centred
by an orchid corsage.
