Council was of the opinion that it could make some arrangements for the clerk to take holidays, but Mr. Camp- bell assured them that his job is such that it would be difficult for a stranger to take over for a short period of time. Council was unanimous in its opinion that the clerk is entitled to four percent of his wages for the years 1968-69-70, if he does not intend taking holidays. Mr. Campbell told council it should be looking for a new clerk as his duties will teminate as of Jan- uary 1st, 1971. The clerk presented a mid- term report to council and report- ed that to date recepts have been $6, 490. 92 but expenditures have been $43, 297. 98, balance on hand $19, 000. Those who had taken in the tour with county council agreed it had been a most informative and educational tour. Building permits were issued to the following; Lewis Clarke; to put siding on his house; Archie Noakes to build a chimney; E,. 'Chipchase to renovate house; P. L, McNaughton to put railing on verandah; J, G , Lavender to build a work shop; Keith Buch- anan to put siding on; Leonard Erb to renovate verandah; Ron Wareing to install toilets; and Harry Klungel to renovate house, Specifications for a new fire hall were presented and council was most enthused with these, the work having been done by the Fire Chief David Sangster.
