Huron Official Plan
Almost Ready
(by Shirley J. Keller)
Two sub -committees of the
county planning board, one inter-
ested in lakefront properties and
one concerned with regional
government, are working in Hur-
on County, it was learned Friday
by Huron County Council.
Asked what the committee
thought about Americans buying
up c-oice lakefront property in
Huron, chairman Anson McKin-
ley said that "An American's
money is as good as anyone else's,
He said it was his belief that
we should preserve a portion of
this expensive lakefront land "not
only for Huron County, but for
all people." We should do noth-
ing to discourage our American
friends, " stated McKinley."
It was also learned that a re -
1 port from the planning consult-
ants is expected by the County
planning board in June. County
Council, in turn, can look for
a report fromthe planning board,
perhaps in June, also.
