Miss Pauline Bell, of "Holi-
day On Ice" phoned home on
Sunday night from Baton Rouge,
Louisiana, before taking a plane
for Mexico, where she will
skate for the next six weeks at
Monterrey, Guadalajara, San
Luis Polon, Terreon, Chihuahua
and Nueva Laredo,
Pauline will return home the
middle of June for a holiday
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Stewart Bell and Troyann.
BROWNIE ENROLMENT
Eleven Brownies were enrolled
by Brown Owl, Mrs. Robert Cook
in traditional ceremony on Tues-
day, April 14. Kim Brown,
Jeannette Charette, Nancy Deitz
Roxanne Lavery, Connie Koeh-
ler, Cathy Koehler, Barbara
Ingram, Debbie Reid, Sandra
Nixon, Beverley Tait and Karen
Shiels, made their promise by
toadstool while their mothers
watched.
The following were presented
their Golden Bars by Tawny Owl

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Alex-
ander have returned from a very
pleasant two month's vacation
spent in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Mrs. Wilbert Dilling is a
patient in South Huron Hospital.
Mrs, Pearl Shaddick and Mrs.
Annie Cole have returned from
a delightful four and a half
months holiday at Lakeland,
Florida.
CURLING CLUB
The Hensall Curling Club
banquet was held at Hensall
Hotel, Tuesday night, when
prizes were awarded to the two
top teams.
First prize, skipped by Betty
Simmons, vice skip, Helen
Anderson; second, Marge Con-
sitt; lead, Marge Knight;
Second prize, skipped by
Beatrice Richardson, vice skip,
Fran Mickle; second, Ruth Cle-
ment; lead, Jennie Kipfer.
Lucille Beer was returned to
office as president, and Joyce
Pepper as secretary -treasurer.
Honor Bride -elect
At Shower
Miss Sharon Lavery, bride -
elect of May 9, was honored at
a miscellaneous shower held at
the Legion Hall, Friday evening,
addended by relatives, neigh-
bours and friends. The hall was
decorated in pale blue and yel-
low.
Presentation of lovely and
costly gifts were made to the
bride -elect by Roxanne Lavery
and Darlene Faber. The staff
of Queensway nursing home,
where she is employed, present-
ed her with a gift.
Games were enjoyed and lun-
ch was served. The shower was
arranged by Mrs. Gordon Lav-
ery and Mrs. Robert Lavery.

Kippen East Women's Institute Name
New Slate of Officers for Coming Term
Mrs. Robert Bell was installed
as president of Kippen East Wo-
men's Institute at the annual
meeting held at the Legion Hall,
Hensall, with Mrs. A. IvlcGreg-
or hostess and Mrs. Connally co -
hostess.
The officers and convenors
were installed. The reports in-
dicated the Institute had very
educational, interesting and
humorous meetings. Demon-
strations, films, guest speakers,
a skit, a mad Hatters party and
a debate were highlights. The
members enjoyed a picnic, a
family night, a fun night and
a bus trip.
Donations included Huron
County Bursary, Anniversary
Fund, Fire victim, Bunny Bundle
Cystic Fibrosis, Children's Aid,
Blind and Children's Hospital in
London. The Institute also spon-
sored the 4 -II Club.
Plans were made for the dist-
rict annual to be held in the
Presbyterian Church, Hensall,
on May 21. Members voted to
continue with the Secret Pals.
