held in Houston, Texas. Mrs.

FIRE DESTROYS HOME
Fire which broke out about
1 a.m. Tuesday destroyed the
farm home, furniture and per-
sonal belongings of Mr. and Mrs.
William Rammello, R.R.2,
Dashwood.
Chief Harold Schroeder of the
Dashwood fire department said
that, by the time firemen could
reach the home, about four mile
southwest of Dashwood on the
Crediton Road, the roof had
already caved in. He estimated
damage at $20, 000.
The Rammellos, whose barn
was destroyed by fire about a
year ago, are staying with neigh-
bours.

Mrs. Ed Gascho, Zurich and
Mrs. John Peters, Toronto, are
enjoying a three-week vacation
at the home of Mrs. Gascho's
son, Mr. and Mrs. Don Gascho,
St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
Winners at the euchre party
sponsored by the Zurich Wom-
en's Institute last Friday even-
ing were Mrs. L. Cleave, ladies
high, and Mrs.. Jim Parkins,
ladies low. Mrs. Donna Klopp
played as a gent and won men's
high prize and Jini Parkins lost
to win men's low. The lucky
cup winner was Mrs. Harvey
Hohner. The Institute were
pleased with the attendance and
will sponsor more euchre parties
in February.

Obituary
IIAROLD ZEIIR
A well-known resident of
Zurich for many years, Harold
Zchr passed away at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Tuesday,
February 3. Born on May 24,
1920, he was in his 44th year,
Mr. Zell; hacl been plant man-
ager of the Hay Municipal Tele-
phone System for the past 12
or,13 years, and prior to that
was an employee of the Iless
Electric firm for a number of
years, working on the telephone
system. He spent a total of 21
years on telephone. work.
Along with his work, Mr. Zehr
was also active in church affairs,
and was a devoted member of
the Blare Mennonite Church.
Ile served on the executive of
the South Huron Youth For Christ
as well. For many years he was
an associate director of the Zur-
ich Agricultural Society.
On November 18, 1950, he
married the former Laurene
Gingerich, who survives along
with five children, Dianne,
Angela, Dwight, Gerald and
Terry, all at home; his parents,
Mr, and Mrs. Aaron Zehr, of
Wellesley; three brothers, Stan-
ley, Gerald and Paul, all of
Kitchener; and five sisters, Mary,
of Wellesley, Joanne, Mrs.
Douglas Gischow, Grace, Mrs.
Len Baker, Ruth, Mrs. Wayne
Jantzi, all of Kitchener, and
Rhoda, Mrs. Glen Baechler, of
New Hambur.
The body is resting at the
Westlake Funeral Home, Zurich,
until Thursday, February 5, when
the service will take place at

The Explorer group met at
the church on Tuesday evening
of last week with the president,
Cathy Taylor in charge.
Patsy Taylor read the scripture
lesson. Ann -Marie Heard gave
therayer and Nancy Fawcett
readtheminutes, and the roll
call was answered by eight
members. During the business
period a discussion was held in
regard to the raising of finances.
Mrs. Robert Taylor read the
study book and Mrs. Barry Tay-
lor conducted the crafts. After
recreation the president, Cathy
Taylor, closed the meeting.
2.30 p.m., in the Blake Men-
nonite Church. Interment will
take place in the church cem-
etery. Rev. Ephraim Gingerich
will officiate.
