Three Area Men
On Snowmobiles
Catch wild Heifer
While many citizens may con-
demn the use of snowmobiles
in the area, one Stanley Town-
ship farmer is happy today that
such a piece of equipment came
into being. And it was a class-
ified ad in the Zurich Citizens
News that brought the snow-
mobiles into action in this par-
ticular case.
Keith Gingerich, of Stanley,
last week advertised that he was
missing a 900 1b. heifer, and
presumed it was lost somewhere
between the Blind Line and the
Babylon Line, in Stanley Town-
ship.
Three area farmers, Lionel
Wilder, Jack Coleman and Bill
Consitt, decided they would
go out looking for the cattle
beast on their snowmobiles,
after about 10 men had tried to
locate the animal on foot.
Travelling over hills and
through rugged bushland, the trio
spotted the wild heifer and clos-
ed in on it. Finally they man-
aged to get a rope around it's
neck, and then tied it to a tree
so they could notify the owner.
Soon Mr. Gingerich had the
heifer loaded and back in his
own stable, a much happier man,
