groom's mother wore a blue
fortrel dress with matching three
quarter length coat and a corsage
of red roses.

A miscellaneous shower was
given by Elaine Murray and Mrs.
Eileen Pryce with Miss Murray
reading the addresss, also a
miscellaneous shower in St.
Joseph's Hall, given by Bonnie
Regier and Mrs. Joe Regier,
with Bonnie reading the address.
DICKERT-DESJARDINE
Emmanuel United Church,
Zurich, was decorated with
baskets of yellow gladiola and
mauve mums for the marriage
of Sandra Elaine Desjardine and
Ronald Wayne Dickert on July
26, 1969. Rev. John 1-luether
officiated at the 3:00 o'clock
double ring_ceremony.
Parents othe bride are Mr. ane
Mrs. Elroy Desjardine, Zurich
and the groom is the son of Mrs.
D. Jones and the late Lloyd
Dickert of Strathroy.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose a white
floor -length gown of French
Logoda over which she wore a
chantilly lace coat that had a
high rounded neckline and long
lily point sleeves. The main
centre of attention was focused
on the detachable chapel train
which was of the sante chantilly
lace and fell from her shoulders.
Her sill< illusion fingertip veil
was caught up by a rhinestone
tiarra and she carried a bouquet
of yellow roses and trailing ivy.
Miss Sharon Murray cousin
of rhe bride, was maid of honour,
and she wore a floor length sleeve
less gown of mauve pebble,
fashioned with an empire waist
which was trimmed with daisy
lace and she wore a matching
pillbox hat and carried a basket
of yellow and mauve mums.
Bridesmaids were Miss Norman
Neilancls, Dashwood and Miss
Karen Murray of London, cousin
of the bride, and they wore
matching gowns and hats in a
sea green color and carried
baskets of yellow and mauve
mums.
Groomsman was Ken Dickert,
brother of the groom, Guelph,
and Ron Desjardine, brother of
the bride and Bert Doulluar of
Strathroy ushered guests.
Organist, Mrs. Milton Ocsch
accompanied soloist, Elaine
Westlake who sang, "The Wedd-.
ing Prayer" and "Oh Perfect Love"
A wedding reception was held at
the Zurich Community Centre
and Mrs. Berne McKinley played
dinner music on her Tvlerrnrba
during the dinner.
For receiving her guests, the
bride's mother chose a delphinium
blue A line dress with large
accordian pleated sleeves and
she wore tiny rosebuds of the
same material and a corsage of
pink carnations. Thc.groom's
mother wore a butter cup yellow
sheath dress with white accessor-
ies and a corsage of white carn-
ations.

Council agreed to meet with
Tuckersmith Township council
and the council of the village of
Hensall, to further discuss fire
protection agreements. The
meeting is to be held within the
next couple of weeks.
A delegation of ratepayers from
the Highlands subdivision, near
Port Blake, met with council
regarding a complaint of rowdy-
ism on the beach in their area.
Two drainage contracts were
awarded at the meeting. Contrac
for the Aldworth Drainage Works
was let to Alvin Litt, for
the sura of $9440, , while Roth
Farm Drainage was awarded the
contract for the Dougall Drainage
Words at a price of 86418. Two
tile drainage loans were also
processed at the meeting.

arranged a surprise shower having
all the girls from their classes in
school come to Sandra's home.
The ladies of Emmanuel United
Church presented Sandra with a
pole lamp and a clock.

Amelia Thiel over the weekend.
Cecil Uftley, of London, was
a visitor in Zurich on Monday of
this week. He has just returned
home from, an extensive trip to
eastern Canada.
Forty six members of the Zurich
Women's Institute travelled to
London recently by bus, where
they taped the television program,
"Act Fast". The show is to be
seen on channel 10 this Sunday.
