OPEN BALL PARK - Last Friday light saw a dream come true for
baseball fans in Dashwood and area, as the new floodlights were
officially dedicated and used for the first time. Shown here

Close to ninety people attended
the nineteenth annual Kalbfleisch
Reunion held at Cedardbrool<
Camp, on Sunda}, August 10.
After registration, which began
at 12:30 p.m., a picnic lunch
was eaten, followed by sports
for the younger members of
the family, under the direction
of Air. and Mrs. Herbert Klopp.
During the business inecting,
greetings were received frocn
various members of the family
and the following officers were
appointed for rhe 1170 reunion.

In other business at the meeting
Council approved an operating
budget of $13, 000 for the arena
and community centre. The
estimated revenue for the year
is $11, 000 leaving a deficit of
$2, 000 on the year's operation.
The debenture and interest is
over and above this figure,
which means that the arena and
community centre will cost the
ratepayers in Zurich about $8300
this year, or about 10 mills on
their taxes.
A contract with 1-Iay Township
for fire protection was renewed
for another one-year period, at
the same price as last year,
$1, 000.
Council approved the purchase
of a suitable plaque to be present-
ed to the city of Zurich, Switzer-
land, when a charter group visit
that city in October,
Approval was given to the
Bean Festival committee to close
Highway 84 during the day of
the Bean Festival, August 23.
The festival committee, however
will be required to provide two
flagmen to direct traffic all
the while the street is closed.
