Meet Farm Needs
The agricultural community
needs more weather information
than is available from general.
weather forecasts.
To meet this need a program
has been developed in south-
western Ontario by the Ontario
Department of Agriculture and
Food, in conjunction with the
Meteorological Branch of the
Canada Department of Transport.
The program provides special
farm weather bulletins, with a
description of the current weath-
er pattern for each clay and a
forecast of details of the next
day's weather, as well as the
outlook for one or more days.
following, depending on the
predictability of weather
conditions.
Some bulletins will also con-
tain information and advice on
farm operations, crop stages,
and so on, and will comment on
important upcoming weather
changes, such as sudden spells of
frost or rain.
