One Hundred and Twenty -One Scores
Recorded In MAA Softball Monday
I\londay night one hundred
and twenty one runs were
scored in the two Zurich MAA
softball gauges. The Cards
carne close to fifty be recording
a 44-24 win over the Dodgers.
In tete other game it was 3G-17
in favour of the Expos over the
Braves.
As some of the score sheets
were recorded with player
changes being made by scribbling
the previous player's name out
and not recording the time the
new player cattle into the game,
we cannot give an accurate
account of `the run scoring.
New Softball
League To Form
For Boys Age 7-9
More ball players in the 7-9
age group are needed to play in
the Zurich MAA softball league.
These players are needed to form
new teams. The reason for this
is that the boys arc playing with
players up to fifteen years of
age and chance of tlichi getting
hurt is too great,
All players in this league will
be from 7 - 9 years old and
they, will have a better chance
to participate in the softball
program than if they play in a
higher age :;roup.
The games will be played at
the Pudic School diamond on
Tuesday nights and any boy
from 7-9 years of age who wants
to play can do so by contacting
Minor AA president Doug O'Brien
at 236-4369 and registering.

Kings Top Clinton
Doug O'Brien scored threetimes and had -two Bits in leading
the Kings to a 10-5 victory over
Clinton. Zurich lumped into a
first inning lead and never were
headed in the ganie.
Earl Wagner had three walks
and scored twice for Zurich. 'flit
other runs for the Kings were
notched by Kevin McKinnon, Doi
O'Brien, George Ilaggitt, Rich-
ard Schilbc and Aubrey Bedard.
Aubrey Bedard and Dutot were
the top hitters in tete game with
three each. One of Piedard's
was a double while the Clinton's
hitters were all singles.
C. Colnulioun scored twice for
the losers and liad two hits, one
a double and the other a home
run. Daer, Bartliff and Fleet
hacl the other runs for Clinton,

BREAK-IN AT TUCI<El'
Thieves stole over $2000
from Tuckey Beverages Bottling
plant at Exeter over the weekend.
The money was taken from a
safe which they opened. Entry
was made through a loading door.
The theft was discovered by
Claire Hoffman, an employee of
the firm.
In the Carus victory, we can
see that John Momuucrstoug and'
Lien Jennie had six runs each.
One position had seven runs
credited to and Don Ayotte,
Jeff O'Brien and Kim McKinnon
all have their names in that
position. Howard Thiel, Rob
Doerr, and Billy Ilay had five
runs each.
The losers were paced by
Dwight Zebr with five runs and
four each by Doug Turldtciln
and Randy Bedard.
In the Expos' UG -17 win OVer
the Braves, Abe DcMooy scored
a half dozen times, Richard
Regier had five runs and four
were scored by Gerald Weido,
Bill Bedard, Randy McKinnon
and Tim Decker.
Top ratan for tete losing club
was Ricky Walker with five rubs.
St. Marys Nip
Kings by One Run
St. Marys scored direr times
in the fourth and three tithes in
the sixth inning and defeated
Zurich Kings 0-55 in a llurott-
Perth baseball game last week.
Zurich score four times in the
top of the seventh but they
could'tt pull the game out of
the fire as darkness halted play
after their bat in tete inning,.
L. hove had two rubs for the
winners with 1. Peach, I,
Noble, 1!azelwood and 3lastings
scoring the other runs.
Doug O'Brien scored twice in a

also. Other Zurich rubs were
notched by Earl Wagner, Don
O'Brien and. Dick Bedard. Pour

the game., Besides O'Briens
two, Dick and Aubrey Bedard

Leonard Schenk; guessing the
weight of the watermelon, Mrs.

Mrs. .lean Clark of Dresden
was a visitor last week at the

Mr. and Mrs. Dean McKnight

on Saturday. The bride is Mrs.

where site underwent surgery-
