Police investigated three accid-
ents, in which four persons
received injuries.
On Wednesday, April 16, at
8 p.m. a truck operated by
Stuart M. Sweitzer of R. R. 2,
Grand Bend, went out of control
on No. 4, County road, west
of Shipka, due to a tire blowing
out and rolled over in the north
ditch. Passengers Bonnie Sweit
zer, age 13, and Loreen Moore,
age 11, of R. R. 2, Grand Bend,
suffered injuries in the accident.
Damage was estimated at $500.
Provincial Constable E. C.
Wilcox investigated.
On Thursday, April 17, at
12.01 a.m., a car operated by
Ann H. MacKellar of Huron
Park collided with a parked car
owned by Wayne Hockey, of
Lucan, on a parking lot at O.D.
C. Huron Park. Damage was
estimated at $75. Provincial
Constable E. C. Wilcox in-
vestigated.
On Saturday,. April 19, at
3;15 a.m. , a car operated by
Douglas Taylor of Exeter went
off No. 4 County road into
the south ditch and rolled over.
Taylor and a passenger, Wayne
Brunslow of Crediton, suffered
injuries in the accident. Dama•
ge was estimated at $2000.
Provincial Constable D. A.
Lamont investigated.
A total of 15 charges were
laid under the highway Traffic
Act, and three under the Liqu-
or Control Act. There were 31
warnings under the Highway
Traffic Act.
The detachment spent a
total of 277 hours on duty,
travelling a distance of 2, 939
miles.

Trophies Presented
At Annual Ladies
Bowling Banquet
The Zurich Ladies Bowling
League annual banquet was
held last -Wednesday night at
the Dashwood Community Cent-
re, with 180 present for the occ-
asion. After an enjoyable din-
ner the business of the evening
was conducted by the president,
Mrs. Marg. Clarke. The
treasurer's report was given by
Mrs. Marion Rader.
Awards were presented as
follows: League winners, the
Starlites, who were awarded
the new annual trophy, donated
by Tasty -Nu Bakery and present-
ed by Allan Gascho; A champ-
ions, the Leftovers. Individual
trophies were donated by Huron
Motor Products and presented by
Bob Hamather; A runners-up,
the Packers. Due to an error
this trophy was awarded to
another team at.t'he banquet.
13 Champions, the Sundowners.
13 runners-up, the Happy Gals.
Individual trophies were awardec
as follows: high average, Irene
Frayne, high triple. Mrs.
Francis Gibson; high single,
Mrs. Joan Turkheim.
Gifts were presented to the
executive and numerous door
prizes were given out. The
evening ended with a dance, the
music being supplied by the
Bluewater Playboys.
The new officers elected for
the coming year are as follows:
president, Mrs. Iva Reid; vice-
president, Mrs. Marg Clarke;
secretary, Mrs. Mona Campbell
treasurer, Mrs. Ann Oesch.
