APRIL, 1919
Mrs. Otterbein, who has spent
the past winter in Dashwood,
has returned to her home in
Zurich where she will remain
for the coming months.
Oscar Klopp, of the 14th con
cession, has taken out an auc-
tioneer's licence, and is now in
a position to conduct auction
sales of all types, large or
small.
J. J. Merner, MP, has sold
his 100 acres of grass farm in
Stanley Township, with John
Tuner buying 50 acres and
Oscar Koehler the other 50.
Dr. J. Routledge, VS, is
having his home in Zurich wire(
for electrical power, which will
be a great convenience to him.
Zurich now has the second
butcher shop. W. Ruby and
Wellington Johnston have opened
their stand in the, building form-
erly occupied by S. Kipfer, as
a confectionery store.
R. T. Dunlop, manager of
the Molson's Bank in Zurich
has been advised of his transfer
to a branch in Frankford, east
of Toronto. He will be replaces
by W. Colles, of Ridgetown.
Frank Bedard of the Bluewater
highway has invested in a horse
and rig, and at present is very
busy peddling fish along the
route.

have been busy recently fishing
in the old river, south of Grand
Bend, are coming home with
some real fine catches. One
of the best so far has been a
carp which weighs over 22
pounds, and at present this fish
is on display in O'Brien's produc
shop.
On Friday afternoon last, whil(

APRIL, 1944
The death occurred at St.
,Mary's Hospital. Kitchener,
of Father A. M. Stroeder, a
former parish priest at Zurich
for some time. He was in
his 72nd year.
Gordon Love, well-known
farmer of the Hillsgreen area,
.is suffering from a slight con-
cussion and injury to his hip
when he was involved in a
traffic accident on highway 4,
south of Hensall.
The Davidson well drillers
of Wingham are busy at pres-
ent drilling a new well in the
village of Zurich. and at pre-
sent they are down nearly 200

Leet. They hope to find water
at about 300 feet depth, and
are sinking a pipe eight inches
in diameter for the new well.
Mrs. Louis Clarke, of Hens -
all, is the proud owner of an
orange tree, which she pur-
chased a few years ago from
a nursery, and at present is
two feet high. The tree has
eight oranges at the present
time.
An Easter wedding was sol-
emnized in London when Rach-
ael' Scrabuik, of Regina Sask-
atchewan, was married to
Gordon Henry Schwalm, of
Hens all.

APRIL, 1954
On Friday Mrs. Agnes Con-
sitt of Brucefield was honoured
on the occasion of her 86th
birthday, and friends and rel-
atives gathered at the home of
her sister, Mrs. William Doug-
las, at Hensall; to mark the
occasion.
A good crowd was out Satur-
day afternoon for the Eckstein
auction sale, and the prices
were good and the demand ex-
cellent. Alvin Wolper wielded
the hammer on the occasion.
