25th Anniversary
Fifty-six neighbors and friends
of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Hood
gathered at their home, RR 3,
Kippen, Wednesday evening,
July 17, and surprised the cou-
ple by dropping in to celebrate
their 25th wedding anniversary.
For entertainment progressive
euchre was the highlight of the
evening, played outside on the
lawn for which prizes were
given.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoocl were pre-
sented with a large mirror and
several other gifts, Ted Robin-
son doing the honors.

Schwalm, and sons Ricky and
Terry, are spending a anonth's
vacation with the former's
mother, Mrs. Violet Schwalm,
and members of the family. Sgt.
Schwalm, who has been sta-
tioned in Germany for the past
two years, has been posted to
Camp Borden.
Mrs, R. M. Peck is visiting
with her brother and sisterin-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Elder,
and family, in Hamilton.
Leslie Riley left Saturday
where he will enter the Work-
men's Compenation Hospital,
Downsview, for further treat-
ment on his left arm which was
injured in a chain saw accident
some months ago.
Grant McClinchey underwent
surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital
last Thursday morning, for neck
injuries which he received in a
recent car accident. He expects
to remain in hospital for two
weeks., -
Mr. and Mrs. Sim. Roobol were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herb
Jones at a dinner at Dominion
Hotel, Zurich, Sunday evening,
July 21, on the occasion of the
35th wedding anniversary of
Mr. and Mrs. Roobol.
Mrs. Louise Simpson was tak-
en by ambulance Saturday eve-
ning to South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, where she is a patient.
Memorial flowers in the sanc-
tuary of Hensall United Church
Sunday morning were placed. by
Mrs. Roy Campbell in loving
memory of her father, Alvin
Wurm.

MacKinnon and family, of Orm-
anocto, N.B., left Tuesday for
their home after a week's va-
cation spent with the former's
mother, Mrs. Donald •MacKin-

day night of the sudden death
of her father, Anthony Vantol,
who passed away in Baskoop,
Holland.

A native of Hay Township.
Alvin Wurm, of Exeter, passed
away at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, on Wednesday, July 17,
in his 75th year.

Hensall Institute
Discuss Programs
The executive meeting of the
Hensall Women's Institute was
held at the home of Mrs. Clar-
ence Reid, Monday evening,
when 12 members were pres-
ent. It was decided to send
two delegates to the A.C.W.W.
meeting in Lansing, Mich., in
September.
If leaders can be found the
4-11 course, "Cottons may be
smart", will be sponsored. Pro-
grams were arranged for
1968-69.

ing a week's vacation with her

Mrs. Warren Gibbs and daugh-
ter Joyce, London, were Sunday
guests with the former's sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
William Petty.
Joins Navy
Gordon Charles Page, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Page, •Hen-
sall, has been accepted with the
Navy as an ordinary seaman,
and will report to CFB Corn-
wallis on August 9.
Injures Finger
Gary Lawrence, 22, an em-
ployee of Scholl's Super Save
Market, had the misfortune
while sawing meat with an elec-
tric band saw to have his hand
slip, causing him to lose the
index finger of his right hand
and badly injuring the next
finger which required surgery.
This was performed at Victoria
Hospital, London. Gary re-
turned home from the hospital
on Saturday. The accident hap-
pened on Tuesday.
Receives Scroll
Robert Thomson, of Kippen,
who recently celebrated his 91st
birthday, was very pleased this
week to receive through the
mail a framed scroll from the
provincial government.

Gary Hilliard +Lawrence, of Hen-
sall, and Bonnie Lynn Robinson.
Rev. D. E. Stuart officiated at
the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Robinson,
Kippen, and the groom's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard
Lawrence, of Goderich, former-
ly of Hensall.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride chose a floar-
length gown of cloud white de-
lustered satin and Venise lace
in empire line. The scalloped
edge of the dace rounded the
neckline and followed the long
line of the dress in front. The
bodice featured lily -point sleeves
and dainty white satin covered
buttons fastening each sleeve.
A cathedral train fell from the
neckline in stiff folds. The
bride carried a white Bible
crested with yellow baby Sweet-
heart roses. Her headpiece was
a four -tiered scalloped veil
sprinkled with sequins.
Mrs. Dawn Rathwell, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor,.
and bridesmaids were Miss Ann
Lawrence, sister of the groom,
and Miss Gayle Robinson, sister
of the bride. They wore iden-
tical floor -length gowns of
mauve chiffon over ligoda styled
in empire lines with sleeveless
bodice and scalloped neckline.
They carried bouquets of white
daisies,
Groomsman was Larry Robin-
son, Kippen. Larry Ducharme
and Bill Noakes, Hensall, ush-
ered the guests.
Organist Mrs. Mary Moffatt,
Kipp e n, provided traditional
wedding music and accompan-
ied the soloist, George Wilkie,
Toronto.
For a wedding trip to North-
ern Ontario, the bride travelled
in a baby blue le sabre suit
with accenting blue and white
flowers and accessories in white.
Her corsage was white carna-
tions.
They will reside in Hensall.
Guests attended from Saskat-
chewan, Toronto and London.
