chairman, outlined the purpose
of his group to plan for and
organize leisure time activities
for the mentally retarded.
Special speaker was Mrs,
Doris Nobes de Burgh, 'who is
a charter members of the Lon-
don Association for the Mentally
Retarded and vice-president of
the Ontario Association. She
was accompanied by her daugh-
ter Alice and showed slides of
the London Association's work-
shop and training centre for
mentally retarded adults where
Alice is employed.

In an attempt to bring tax
relief to everyone, landlords are
to pass on the tax to their ten-
ants. Mr. McKeough has 'indi-
cated the onus will be on the
tenants of homes and apart-
ments to snake sure their land-
lords give them the proper tax
rebates.
Under the legislation, a dis-
satisfied tenant could take his
landlord to court—not by civil
action but by laying a complaint
with the crown attorney's office.
The penalty section provides a
maximum $100 fine for con-
traventions of the law,
In imposing a duty on land-
lords to pass the tax -reduction
benefits on to tenants, the bill At Zurich Lanes

by the lowering of rents or
hump sum or cash payments.
Mr..McIeough conceded that
where no -lease exists, a land-
lord could wipe out the benefit
to tenants by raising the rent.
He also emphasized that land-
lords would be required to show
tenants how they were bene-
fitting,
