New Officers Are Installed For
Carmel Women's Missionary Society
Mrs. R. A. Orr, the new presi-
dent of the Women's Mission-
ary Society of Carmel Presby-
terian Church, Hensall, opened
the January meeting with a
New Year's poem. Fourteen
were present on a told after-
noon last Thursday.
The theme was "Christ and
the Faith of Men", which was
in charge of Mrs. Harvey Hyde,
who presented the devotional
and study. Scripture passages
were read by Mrs. Glenn Bell.
Mrs. Orr gave highlights of

Katherine Ann McGregor and
Erie Borden Judge, London,
were united in marriage in
Carmel Presbyterian Church,
Hensall, on Saturday afternoon
by Rev. John Boyne.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex McGregor,
RR 2, Kippen, are the parents
of the bride. The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Winton
Judge, London.
For her wedding the bride
chose a floor -length gown of
white peau de sole styled with
a scoop neckline, bell sleeves
to the elbow and an empire
waistline trimmed with satin
braid and teardrop pearls. Her
full-length veil was held in
place by a petal rosette and
pearl headpiece and she carried
a cascade of pale pink baby tea
roses and English ivy. She was
escorted to the altar by her
father.
Mrs. Dave Mitchell, Dorches-
ter, was matron of honor, wear-
ing a floor -length gown of royal
blue peau de sole fashioned
with scoop neckline, elbow -
length sleeves, empire waist-
line enhanced with sequins and
a rosette headdress and veil to
match.
Bridesmaids Mrs. John Mc-
Gregor and Mrs. Douglas Mc-
Gregor, sisters-in4aw d the
bride, were dressed identical •to
the matron of honor. All at-
tendants carried cascades of
yellow tea roses.
Dave Mitchell, Dorchester,
was best man. Jahn and Doug-
las
ouglas McGregor ushered guests.
Mrs. John A. McGregor, Sea -
forth, grandmother of the bride,
was organist.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. McGregor chose an avo-
cado green crepe dress with
lace bodice, avocado green and
black feathered hat, black ac-
cessories and a corsage of red
roses. The groom's mother
wore a midnight blue two-piece
wool suit, sequin trimmed, with
accessories to match and a cor-
sage of yellow roses.
The wedding reception was
held in the church parlors.
For travelling to the South-
ern States the bride changed to
a cherry red dress, with match-
ing coat and hat trimmed with
black mink. She wore black
accessories and a corsage of
tea roses and an orchid.
On their return the couple
will reside in London.
Guests were present from

Windsor, Leamington and
Brantford.

from India who is at present

established in 1956. Today,
1500 Canadians, now blind,
could receive sight if more eyes
were available. There is na cost
to the donor or the family.
Carmel Ladies
Arrange Events
The Carmel Presbyterian
Church Ladies' .Aid meeting was
held in the Sunday school room
last Thursday afternoon, when
many plans for 1968 were dis-
cussed. The annual bazaar, tea
and bake sale will be held No-
vember 2 and already the ladies
are using their spare winter
hours turning out articles for
the bazaar.
They will entertain the Blue
Water Rest Horne citizens an
afternoon in June.
The following officers were
elected and will form the 1968
slate: president, Mrs. Harvey
Hyde; vice-president, Mrs. Clar-
ence Volland; secretary, Mrs.

Leaders Meetin
The Huron County 4-H Agri-
cultural Club Leaders' Associa-
tion will hold their annual
meeting at the Ontario Depart-
ment of Agriculture board room
in Clinton on Thursday, Jan-
uary 25, at 11:00 a.m. The 4-H
work during the past year will
be reviewed and plans will be
formulated for the corning year,
adds D. G. Inglis, extension as-
sistant for Huron County,
The 4-H leaders will be guests
of the Ontario Department of
Agriculture and Food at a noon
dinner at the Hotel Clinton.
In 1967, there were 26 4-H
Agricultural Clubs -with 60 lead-
ers in Huron County. Maurice
Love, RR 2, Exeter, is chairman
of -the 4-H Leaders' Association.

Area Campaign for March of Dimes

Hensall on Monday evening,,
January 29, from 7 to 8 on be-
half of the March of Dimes.

The March of Dimes cam-
paign, to be held throughout
Ontario on Monday, January 29,
is crucial to rehabilitation work
to be carried on this year in
areas looked after by the cen-
tral western Ontario branch of
the Rehabilitation Foundation
for the Disabled, according to

Amber Rebekah Lodge met
for its regular meeting on Wed-
nesday, January 17, with noble
grand Mrs. John Corbett pre-
siding,
An attendance of 30 was pres-
ent when plans were finalized
for the 19th annual birthday
party to be held February 21.
The Rebekah Lodge of Exeter
has been extended an invitation
to this party.
Gifts of sunshine pals were
exchanged and plans to go
ahead for another year were
made and names drawn.
It was decided to hold a des-
sert euchre on Wednesday,
March 27, in the afternoon.
Following the meeting a so-
cial hour and cards were en-
joyed and the winners were

mittee in charge.

be spent in this :area during
1968. The central western On-
tario branch covers Waterloo,
Wellington, Grey, Perth, Hur-
on, Bruce and Dufferin coun-
ties. She added, however, that
the availability of this money
depended an the success of the
one -day March of Dimes cam-
paign,
The Foundation is a member
of the United Appeal in 26
cities and towns in Ontario, but
relies on the March of Dimes

entirely in this area.
During the 10 months ending
October 81, 1967, expenses
totalled $02,840 for the branch,
Mrs. White said, and by the
end of the year would likely
reach $63,500. The campaign
goal for the central western.
branch is $70,000 and is part of
a province -wide objective of
$850,000,
