Special thanksgiving services
were held in the local churches
Sunday with appropriate mes-
sages and music in keeping with
the occasion.
The Ladies' Aid of Carmel
Presbyterian Church are pleased
with the wonderful success of
their Centennial turkey supper,
on Thursday, October 5, with
many attending from Hensall
and surrounding •communities.

Regular meeting of Amber
Rebekah Lodge was held on
Wednesday evening, October 4,
noble grand Mrs. Lindsay Eyre
presiding. Mrs. John Broadfoat,
of Brucefield, district deputy
president of Huron district, .and
her installing staff of Huronic
Lodge, Clinton, installed the
1967-68 officers.
Twenty officers and visitors
from Clinton Lodge were guests.
Members were reminded of the
banquet to be held at the local
arena on October 20, to honor
the Grand Master of the As-
sembly.
The installing staff were com-
mended for the splendid man-
ner in which they conducted
the installation. Mrs. Broad -
foot, DDP, was presented a gift
on behalf of the lodge.
Mrs. Harold Parker contrib-
uted reading, and contests were
enjoyed.

Hensall, picked a quart of fresh
delicious raspberries from her
garden on Thanksgiving Day,

Thanksgiving visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Harvey Jacobi.

versity, spent Thanksgiving with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rus-

and Jerry, of Hensall; Mr. and
Mrs. George Armstrong and
Gail, Hyde Park; Miss Peggy
Young, Toronto, spent Thanks-
giving with Mr. and Mrs. John
Wade, of Wallaceburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Rigby, of
Blenheim; Mr. and Mrs. Terry
North and Teresa, St. Thomas,
spent Thanksgiving with Mr
and Mrs. Harry Snell.

most enjoyable evening. A

October Meeting
The autumn thank -offering of
UCW of Hensall United Church
was held in Fellowship Hall
last Thursday afternoon, The
devotional on the parable of
"The Good Samaritan" was
given by Mrs. Elizabeth Riley.
Mrs, James McAllister presided
and opened with invocation. A
film was presented by Rev. II.
Currie on the refugees in the
world, showing how the church-
es are helping. Roll .call proved
most interesting by naming
"something we are thankful
for. Mrs. McAllister reported
on the workshop recently held
in ,Hensall United Church and
