be allowed in the House of
Commons during this session on
an experimental basis.
"Television might give the
public a better idea of the prob-
lems we have to face," the PM
said.

It will give the voters a
chance to see how many times
the House is never full—some-
times nearly empty.
It will give the voters an op-
portunity to hear the members
speak.
It will be an excellent way of
determining who should remain
in the House, and who should
be ousted at the next general
election.
Yes, it will be interesting to
see how the members perform
on camera,
One thing is certain, it will
stop the childishness.
Here's a look at the compar-
ative network schedule for Tues-
days when the fall season be-
gins in September.
At 7:30 ABC will play Gar-
rison's Gorillas, while CBS will
run Daktari. NBC will play I
Dream of Jeannie; CTV will go
with The Jerry Lewis Show and
CBC will play He and She.

Lutheran Women
Hear Reports of
Annual Roily
The May meeting of the
Lutheran Church Women was
held on May 9, with 30 mem-
bers attending.
Mrs. K. Westlake and Mrs.
W. Brokenshire opened with
devotions after which Pastor A.
Blackwell and Mr. Bert Klopp
presented the topic, "The Mani-
festo". The Manifesto is a pro-
clamation adopted by the Luth-
eran Church of America at the
1966 convention. It consists of
16 points and is to be used as
a guide to study and assist a
judgment al. the life and work
of each individual congregation.
It was stressed that the church
must be alert to the changing
needs, moods and currents of
the modern world in order to
fulfilltively. its ministry more effec-
The president, Mrs. Fink-
beiner, chaired the business
part, The visiting committee
reported 21 calls were made on
the sick and shut-ins. A spe-
cial offering is to be taken for
Cystic Fibrosis at the June
meeting. On motion is was de-
cided to present a program at
the Rest Home in the near
future.
Mrs. Bert Klapp, convenor of
the steering committee, report-
ed six layettes were completed
and ready to ship with the used
clothing which is being collect-
ed and is to be baled after the
first of June.
Thirteen members and the
Pastor attended the Lutheran
Church Women's Assembly of
the western district, which was
held in Our Saviour's Lutheran
Church, Owen Sound, with 200
in attendance. Following is the
report:
Opening devotions were con-
ducted by Pastor C. Diegel and
Pastor Loci. Mrs. Eric Wink-
ler, of Hanover, took over for
Bible study.
Greeting and welcomes were
given by district chairman Mrs.
H. Wesley; Mrs. William Hill,
president of the Owen Sound
LCW; district dean, Pastor E.
Fisher and the mayor of Owen
Sound.
Minutes and reports were
presented, followed by the roll
call, which was answered by a
representative from each society
present, stating their centennial
endeavor for this year., Mrs.
Hill was elected chairman of
the western district.
Pastor D. Algar, Desboro,
spoke of the many opportuni-
ties for Christians as individ-
uals and as congregations.
The highlight of the meeting
was a pageant presented by the
ladies of St. Peter's, Zurich.
Mrs. A, Blackwell prepared the
story based on the book,
"Church Growth in Canada",
and as she read the story sev-
eral ladies represented the dif-
ferent churches organized in the
early century.
The meeting closed with de-
votions by Pastor Calvin Diegel.
The assembly was invited to
meet in Stratford in 1968.

Last Saturday evening, :Mrs.
Nora Mittelholtz was pleasantly
surprised by her family and
friends on the occasion of her
birthday. The lady was baby
