S. Cole GARNET HICKS, Clerk ALVIN WALPER, Auctioneer EUB Women Hear Welfare Topic The WSWS of the Evangelical UB Church held their regular monthly meeting on February 3, in the church basement. Mrs. D. Geiger was chairlady and used as her theme, "Affluence and poverty". Following the opening hymn, Margaret Geiger favored with a piano solo and Mrs. Melvin Brown read the scripture and lead in prayer. A very interesting playlet en- titled "Two in a Trap", was presented by Mrs. D. Geiger and Mrs. Oscar Greb. Mrs. Greb represented a society woman who received justice for all, ironically though, welfare went unrecognized. Mrs. Geiger represented a woman on wel- fare, desiring recognition and human right, not a hand-out. A discussion period on afflu- ence and poverty followed. Mrs. Menno Steckle intro- duced the study book. The first chapter was concerned with the beginning of the Church in Canada. Mrs. Greb presided for the business meeting, after which the committee in charge served a delicious lunch. 0 Zurich Girl Guides Plan Fashion Show The local Guides, under the direction of Mrs. Stewart Deitz, have brought together a "Cen- tury of Fashions" which will be on display at the Zurich Com- munity Centre next Wednesday evening, February 22, at 8:30 p.m. Everything from the sedate, cumbersome clothes of the 19th centry to the wild, wonderful, easy -care fashions of today is included in the show.
