bers of Hensall, Kippen and
Elimville Institutes were guests.
The president, Mrs. Glen
Webb, welcomed everyone and
conducted opening exercises af-
ter which she turned the chair
over to Mrs. Syd Baker, who
presided for the program.
Mrs. T. Macmillan, of Exeter,
was guest speaker and she
showed Christmas boxes and
demonstrated how each was
wrapped. Some of these boxes,
bows, and decorations were add-
ed to a penny sale which was
conducted by Mrs. Eben Wei-
gand. A comical skit and a
square dance rounded out the
program. All sat down to tables
decorated in the Armistice
theme. Mrs. J. M. Tiernan read
"In Flanders' Fields". "The
Queen" brought the evening to
a close.
Personals
Many parents and ratepayers
took advantage of open house
at the central school to tour
the building and meet the
teachers. With such good facil-
ities the pupils and teachers
should do wonders.
Several from Dashwood and
the surrounding community en-
joyed a week of hunting in the
north last week, however, the
deer seems to have outwitted
most pf the men.
S a in Oestreicher returned
home last week after a lengthy
stay in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
Sheldon Wolfe and Peter, and
Rev. J. M. Oestreicher, of Clif-
ford, and Rev. John S. Oest-
reicher, from Selkirk, were Sat-
urday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Oestreicher and boys
and Sam Oestreicher,
Mr, and Mrs, William Oest-
reicher, of Crediton, spent Sun-
day afternoon with Sam Oest-
reicher and Mr, and Mrs. Carl
Oestreicher.
Mrs. Charles Snell spent a
few days with Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Snell and Timothy, of London.
Mrs. Irvin Rader, David, Paul
and Sharon accompanied Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Miller and Bren-
da, of Zion, to Toronto Satur-
day where they visited with Mr.
and Mrs. John deNeit.
The Youth Fellowships of the
Stratford district met at Dash-
