Most of the homes in this
neighborhood had their chil-
dren and others had friends
for Christmas; some came from
afar to be with their loved ones
for the day. Others were not so
fortunate, not even arriving at
their destination to greet and
to be greeted by their parents
and other close ones to their
hearts. It is true that Christ-
mas is a time of enjoyment for
all but for those who have to
travel on the highways are al-
ways exposed to danger. As
careful as they may be there
are always those who take a
hundred chances on their driv-
ing and regrettably they plunge
themselves and •others in dan-

story. Perhaps many accidents
could be avoided by more care-
ful driving — would not leave
loved one to mourn their loss.
We have now passed the
shortest days of the year, start-
ing about the fourth week in
December. During that period
there are almost 14 hours of
darkness each day, We are told
that this is due to the earth
which is mounted on a point
and rotating on it axis, making
its annual trip, causing the
shortest days, also the four sea-
sons and the various changes
in the weather, We •are also
told by some that it revolves
every 24 hours causing day and
night. Furthermore we are also
told that the earth is 12 miles
thick. Let us imagine the
weight of the earth and all on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial
that is on its surface; the weight followed in Hensall Union cern-
in tons could not be figured. etery.
Still it carries its load and keeps
rotating on as it has since crea-
tion. It is true that scientists ig;EMeterat taMM '
have gone a long way in dis-
covering the earth's and all that
is hidden in its depths. Scien-
tists are of great intelligence
and they foresee things by ad-
justing the future as what the
past has to offer. The idea is a
hard one to understand. Of
course it is the work of God
and if He wanted man to know
the full meaning of it so that
they spread the news to the
world, Those men could have
been inspired by God and in a
way enlightened their thoughts,
as there is nothing impossible
to the Creator of all things.
